We LOVE seeing our silver faced patients just as much as we do the baby faced ones. 🩶 One thing that dogs of all ages benefit from is heartworm prevention - an absolute must, especially here in the Mid-South! Baxter was here for his 12 month ProHeart injection - a once yearly injection that protects him against heartworm disease. Baxter is now one and done vs. heartworms for a whole year - no monthly pills to remember to give! Veterinary Assistant Kayla and Chewbacca were both excited about his first adult annual visit! 😍 Now that his immune system is working fantastically as an adult dog, Chewbacca only needs to be poked once a year as opposed to every few weeks as a growing puppy. Our canine annual visit is $135 and includes a physical exam by his veterinarian, a heartworm test, intestinal parasite test, nail trim, and his distemper, parvo, and rabies vaccinations! This handsome little wookie is now street legal for a whole year!

Dr. Covington, Dr. Clapp, Manager Debra, and their dogs recently returned from completing the OneWorld Canine Obstacle Run in Alabama! This 4+ mile long event included over 30 obstacles that teams had to navigate while running through water, sand, gravel. Teams from around the US came to participate as the grueling course challenged each owner-dog team to work together to complete. It wasn't easy, but these TPH women absolutely rocked it! 🥳 Congratulations!

Our Veterinary Technician and Assistant Manager, David, has been hosting monthly learning events for our team members to refine and perfect some of the more technical skills in their arsenal. Veterinary Assistant Kellen participated in a recent event on dental X-rays. 🩻 Did you know that when your pet receives a dental cleaning, we take full mouth X-rays to check for problems under the gum line - just like when you and I go to the dentist!

Merle coloring in the dog world is like when you can’t decide what coat color to wear so you just wear all of them at once like Steve here! 🌈 Some dog breeds that have naturally occurring merle colored coats are Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, Dachshunds, Catahoula Leopard Dogs, Shetland Sheepdogs, Cardigan Welsh Corgis, Chihuahuas, and Great Danes!

We both graduated from the best vet school ever, Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. We have been fast friends ever since. She never ceases to amaze me with her quiet knowledge and kind demeanor. She is a talented veterinarian, loving mother and wife and above all a Christian. The Receptionist Family Matters Starting off our Staff Appreciation Week are the first people you interact with at TPH whether that’s on an online Chat, on the phone, or in person: our incredible Veterinary Receptionists! Their customer service skills are unmatched and they are always eager to go above and beyond to make your and your pet’s experience a positive one. They’ve been known to hold an umbrella in the rain, help clean out a car when a pet gets car sick, and be a calm shoulder to lean on during difficult visits. Our Client Experience Manager, Sally, is always teaching our reception team how to better serve pets and pet parents every day and is their biggest cheerleader. Our Receptionist Training Managers Isabella and Candice start every new receptionist off on the right foot by showing them the ropes of TPH so when that new receptionist gets to their home location, they’re ready to help the team!
