Did you have to make The Decision? Some of you say you "killed" your best friend. You did not. You put an end to their suffering. You gave them the greatest gift of love you can possibly give. Please take the hour or so it takes to read "It's Not Putting Me Down It's Lifting Me Up". Written from your pet's point of view, it will bring you peace of mind. You will never question your decision again.

Someone knows something!

Good morning!
We know everyone that has been keeping up with Riona has questions, and we are going to answer as many as we can.

First: she is doing very well! The first of several skin grafts should start next week, beginning with her face. Thanks to the wonderful care of Mallory and everyone at Bluff City she avoided infections and is healing great!

✅ YES, MPD is investigating. It takes time. There is information that we simply cannot share but please note it is ongoing.

✅ Thanks to another donor the reward is now at $20,000.00 for the "arrest and conviction of the person/persons that did this."

✅ Social media is sharing her story. There are over 3.3 million views on her TikTok page:

✅ She can be followed via

✅ An online petition was made: https://animalvictory.org/petitions/justice-for-young-dog-doused-in-gasoline-and-set-on-fire/?fbclid=IwAR0UhyrcJJY86FUukk_pd-daZvpNpxR1K-DUhBA-ktd6rRrMvCGb-iYea_0

✅ Inside Edition has contacted us and is working on sending a news crew down to do a story on her.

✅ Newsweek has emailed us to do a story on her as well.

✅ Every TV station in Memphis and some as far as PA have covered her story.

With all the media attention SOMEONE is eventually going to speak up.

So yes, things are being done to not only care for her and help in her long road to recovery, but we are also making sure her story is spread and shared so awareness can be made not only to what happened to her, but to the horrific abuse that goes on everyday to these poor animals. Many others shared their stories, and sadly most of the abused dogs are pits. It needs to stop.

Please consider donating $5 to MidSouth Pug Rescue for the on or before January 17, which would have been Betty’s 100th birthday.

We take in any pug in any condition. We have them evaluated and treated for any medical issues. They are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and placed with a foster who will evaluate for any social issues. When ready, the pug will be matched with an adopter to go to their furever home.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donation is tax deductible.

Happy Halloween! Halloween frights usually come from scary movies and little ghouls at your door-but pets can face some fur-raising hazards, too. What can pet owners do to protect their little pumpkins?

Petrifying perils

From the dangers of sugar-free candy to costume failures, spooky fun can quickly turn into a scary night at the veterinarian's office.

In fact, pet emergency hotlines see a 12% increase in calls around Halloween, which is also a very common holiday for pets to get lost.

Trick or treat pet safety tips

Make sure your pet wears a collar with ID tags
Designate a quiet room where pets can hang out with the door closed
Always keep candy bowls out of paw's reach
