Fun fact of the day: Early dispersal of domestic horses into the Great Plains and northern Rockies” published in Science on August 10, 2022. This article presents archaeological evidence suggesting that horses reached the northern Rockies and central Great Plains by the first half of the 17th century CE, much earlier than previously thought. The research indicates that Indigenous groups rapidly adopted and spread horses across these regions, integrating them into their societies before significant European contact.

Fun Fact for the Day:

Amidst the twinkle of festive lights and the joy of community gatherings, it's delightful to reflect on how wild horses also embrace the spirit of the season in their own way. The image here, reminds us that wild horses are incredibly adaptive creatures. They grow thicker coats to brave the winter chill, often seen frolicking in the snow or standing stoically as the landscape turns into a winter wonderland. This picture captures more than a moment; it's a snapshot of the resilience and beauty of nature, mirrored by the caring hands that ensure these majestic animals can thrive. As we celebrate the season, let's take inspiration from the wild horses and the dedicated people at Moon Mountain Sanctuary and Rescue, who remind us of the beauty in caring for all living beings.

Merry Christmas Everyone ❤️❤️
