I want to send out a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of my clients, friends, family, neighbors, and general Facebook followers that have shown their support for both myself and my business in the past week!

The main reason for sharing the post was to bring awareness to the fact that I want to be treated like a human like any other person and profession. I know I have my faults but I do try my best in both my profession and my personal life. My family too often has to take the back burner because of work, so sometimes I do try and put them first ❤️

** We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone **

Apparently not everyone understands what it means to need a break from work. This is not a client (past, present, and now future as well). When explained to her that Facebook indicated I was away with my family and her review wasn’t appreciated when I had indicated I was unavailable, she said she didn’t care and it was her opinion.

I can guarantee you that I will not put up with this kind of behavior or attitude. All of my current clients understand that I am solo in my business venture, other than my husband whom assists me. I will gladly help people (clients or not) when I am available, but if I get shamed for not responding to a non client when I am with family, I really don’t appreciate it, and that there is the reason why su***de is so high in the veterinary profession and why very few new veterinarians want to go into private practice or own their own business.

Thank you to all of my current clients, as I really do appreciate all of you and how understanding you are when I can’t respond right that minute.

MERIDEN, Kansas Folks:

I am in need of some help finding a building (preferred) or possibly just land to build on for a permanent brick/mortar veterinary clinic location.

I still plan on being mobile, but as my business has grown, there are so many benefits about having a permanent location with more diagnostic options/capabilities that I’m missing. It would also allow me to have a full time receptionist to get back to everyone’s requests and questions faster!

Please let me know of any locations in/around Meriden. I would prefer a visible location near K-4 if possible.

Thanks!

🧨 🧨 THE COUNTDOWN IS ON 🧨 🧨

In a few short days, the nation will be celebrating their independence once again. While we are all out celebrating, having cookouts, fishing, boating, blowing things up, and trying to stay out of the emergency room, the majority of our furry companions are terrified and running for cover.

The 4th of July is the biggest day of the year for pets to go missing because they were either terrified for the fireworks, or people are out camping and they wander out. For whatever the reason, we want to be able to reunite you with your pet!

Microchipping your pet is one of the best ways to find your 4 legged (or 3 legged) friend again. When found pets are brought into humane societies or most vet clinics, we are able to scan for a microchip. As long as that unique number in the microchip is registered (we register it for you for life!), the humane society or vet clinic is able to obtain your information and call you right away!

If you would like to get your pet microchipped prior to the 4th of July festivities, please shoot me a message on here or text (don’t call) my clinic number 785 741 3104.

**For those pets with anxiety about loud noises and fireworks, we have short acting anxiety medication as well!! Your pet will thank you for this present!!**

ATTENTION BROWN COUNTY, KANSAS RESIDENTS:

Guess who's back?!

I was told I would never make it. But guess what? Here I am, two years later and thriving and the non-compete agreement is behind us!

I can legally take Brown County residents as clients again without the threat of legal repercussion, and I am so thrilled to be able to offer services to you all again!

I realize that we moved an hour south, but that isn't stopping me from still helping out the residents of my hometown county. On days where I have a full schedule of Brown County residents, I will offer discounted travel rates, otherwise you are also more than welcome to bring your pets down to me as well! It's a beautiful drive down through the countryside along K-4.

Please reach out via text at 785 741 3104, Facebook Messenger, or email [email protected].

I look forward to being able to serve you again!

**Fun Stats to Share**

In 2023, we completed 160 dog spays, 135 dog neuters, 167 cat spays, and 149 cat neuters, as well as numerous other surgeries including tumor/mass removals and eye enucleations.

Overall, we had 657 surgical patients, with a few of them undergoing more than one procedure! (Not to mention a few months that we were out on hiatus due to maternity leave/moving closer to Topeka.)

To say that we love surgery is an understatement, but we can definitely do more than that for you!

Today was a beautiful day compared to all the recent snow and ice! My husband took the opportunity to help get the trailer sprayed off from all the mud (I know it’ll be caked on again after tomorrow with our very muddy road, but it’s an improvement!).

I wanted to take a moment to thank Killer Custom Wraps and Topeka Trailer Repair Inc. for doing an amazing job getting the trailer all fixed up after the hail storm this past fall and getting the new wrap on the outside. I super appreciate all that they both did to get the job done!

01/13/2024

Animals can get frostbute too, so please be on the lookout for animals needing shelter from the frigid temperatures this weekend! Even though there are some dogs that love the snow, it's all in what they're body is acclimated to and how much/thick of fur they have.

For any outdoor shelters you have for pets, straw is the best insulator as blankets just get damp and freeze from the snow pets bring in with them.

With temperatures as low as they are this weekend, livestock also need to be watched closely for adequate food and water that is not frozen over. Horses should be blanketed or at least provided adequate shelter from the wind and snow.

If you are concerned by an animal's welfare, please take a picture and call your local law enforcement department to determine if further action or help is needed.

Cold-weather dogs have thick double coats to keep them warm in snow and freezing temperatures. Here are some of the best dogs for cold weather.

One month ago, I was able to surgically donate bone marrow to someone in need. It wasn't pain free but I would 100% do it again if it helped save someone's life.

You can save someone's life too! Go onto www.bethematch.org and you can sign up to join the registry, or if that's not your scene, you can also donate as they are a non-profit organization. Donations go towards covering medical expenses, travel, food, and lodging for donors.

If you have any questions, please ask! There is a need for donors of all ethnicities!

I have been itching to share the news, but I have officially been matched with someone in need of a bone marrow transplant!

I have been on the registry for the past 10 years and never thought I would actually receive a call that I had matched with someone. While it is not always a very fast process, I received the initial call a few weeks ago and have undergone multiple rounds of bloodwork and a physical examination to further determine the compatibility of myself to the recipient. As of this afternoon, I got the text that I have been officially medically cleared to donate!

While 90% of the time, people are able to give bone marrow through a process similar to plasma donation (but much more long and grueling process from what I hear), my recipient is actually in need of surgically derived bone marrow. What does this mean? I will actually be undergoing full anesthesia and having bone marrow taken straight out of my pelvis.

The interesting side of this is that I have actually seen bone marrow biopsies performed in my day in veterinary school, but never thought I would be having a similar procedure done on myself.

I am so excited to be a living organ donor and hoping that I can save the life of my recipient. They don't share all information with donors about their recipients, but I do know that he is a young male that is just entering into his adult life with a life threatening disease. I will be having my surgery done at the end of this month, and a couple days later after they process the cells, he will be receiving the marrow.

So the questions is, why am I sharing this with you?

I want to help educate people about the importance of signing up to donate bone marrow and become a living organ donor! It's crazy that only 30% of the time, a family member is a match for donation, but the other 70% of the time, a stranger from the registry is a better suited match! It costs nothing to sign up, and even if you ever do get the call, if it's not the right time in your life, you can always say no. After my Dad's battle with cancer the past several years, I can't imagine saying no to potentially saving someone's life.

Please go to https://bethematch.org/ and click on the Join tab at the top! If you do sign up (or if you already are), please drop a comment below. I would love to see how many other Be the Match Community members are out there.

In the midst of all our life changes, we upgraded from our cute little mobile rig to a bumper pull vet clinic! This has given us so much more space, especially on our busy surgery days!

For those in the Jefferson county area, you remember the freak hail storm that totaled people's roofs in mid-September? Well, we obviously got damage to our trailer too, so it is FINALLY in the shop this next week for a long list of repairs. After that project is finished, the new vinyl wrap will go on at the end of November. So excited to get all these projects completed.

With that being said, while the trailer is in the shop, the only services we can perform in meantime are wellness exams, vaccines, heartworm tests, and humane euthanasias. For this reason, we are offering 50% off travel fee for the week of 11/13-11/17 only. I just ask that you have a dry place we can complete the services, as we will only be traveling with our pickup.

We should be able to return to normal full service hopefully at the end of next week, but we will keep you posted!

Many of you have not yet been introduced to the newest staff members of Dr. Molly's Mobile Veterinary Clinic, LLC. Let me introduce my newest assistants, my partner in crime/husband Cody, and our two little ones, Benjamin and Reagan. Benjamin likes to think he's the boss having just turned 2, but we all know who the real boss is... Reagan.

But in all seriousness, these 3 are now riding along with me full time. After our move to Jefferson County, we struggled to find childcare and I was starting to need an extra hand on the road, so we opted for a non traditional route of raising the kids on the road with us! Many of you have kids yourselves, nieces/nephews, or siblings, so please be patient with us if it's an ornery day for one or both of them...or an ornery day for my husband. We all know that can happen too.

Anyway, I am so excited for this new chapter in our lives for however long it lasts!

Along with regular private owned pets, I also love doing shelter/animal rescue work because it is so rewarding to help prepare pets for their forever home.

Please go donate on venmo or PayPal to so they can continue to provide care to animals in need! Unlike many other rescues and humane societies, they have not been established as long and don't have the extra funds for everything they would like to provide for the pets in their care and for their volunteers.

Do you remember Willa? Back in September, she was found and turned in to the rescue. Her eyes were so badly infected that her eyeballs shriveled and she was blind. She was terrified and lashed out when people tried to touch her. She has been in a foster home since then (and will be formally adopted).

Her eye removal surgery was yesterday, and she's doing GREAT! She is purring, cuddling and playing with toys tonight! Thank you to all our supporters - YOU help to make success like this happen! Without a local rescue group, think of the suffering this baby would have most likely endured. Thanks to Dr. Molly's Mobile Veterinary Clinic, LLC for the wonderful care.

Guess who's back?! I will be starting back full time for surgeries and appointments in two weeks!

Due to our new location near Meriden/Ozawkie, we have revised our previous travel locations and fees. The map shows approximate locations only and will rely more heavily on the actual mileage from our home base.

While away on baby leave, I have actually upgraded from the little rig that you all have come to know and now have a full size trailer with 14 kennels! That means, I will be accepting surgeries and some appointments at my home location as well! This will help out those that are concerned with costs of the travel fee but would still like to utilize my services.

I have also attached a copy of my most common services requested with approximate pricing. There may be services that I provide that I don't have listed, so please feel free to ask for an estimate.

To schedule an appointment, please TEXT 785 741 3104 or send a message through facebook or email [email protected].

*Brown County Kansas residents - only 7 more months until you can utilize my services again! The non-compete will expire in April 2024!!*

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY SMALL BUSINESS! I look forward to seeing you all again!

Little miss Reagan FINALLY made her appearance on Monday, July 24th at 4:08 am. We are all doing well and enjoying the snuggles in our new home! I will keep everyone updated when I’m back up and taking appointments. For now, I’m going to be soaking up the baby snuggles while she is still so little ❤️ Thank you for your understanding!

It’s so hard to keep Facebook updated sometimes! I’ve got a couple big changes coming soon that some of you are aware of and others, it may be new news!

1) We are due ANY DAY with our new baby. She’s holding out on us so far! Because of her unknown arrival date (could be today, could be tomorrow, could be in a week 🤷🏻‍♀️), I’m officially on maternity leave to avoid going into labor on the road.

How does this affect you? I obviously won’t be making any house calls any time soon but if you need a medication refill, you can still text or email me and I will be able to arrange pickup or mail it out to you. In the meantime, if you have any emergencies or need an appointment, I ask that you use one of your local veterinary clinics or if it is after hours, K-State Veterinary Hospital is open 24/7 in Manhattan, Kansas or Blue Pearl Emergency Clinic in Overland Park is also open 24/7.

2) We’re moving! Starting at the end of July, we will be relocated to the Ozawkie/Meriden region. We’re very excited for this move, as it will be a beautiful change in scenery, we’ll have a home better equipped for our growing family, and I’ll be able to help serve the local people in that region. The Brown County Non Compete from my previous employer is still being upheld until mid April 2024. At that time, I have a plan in the making to still be able to serve my original hometown family/friends/neighbors, so continue to keep an eye out!

How does this affect you? For the most part, I will still keep the same service region, as Highway 4 serves as a nice diagonal road up into the more NE parts of the state. However, I will be making some adjustments, so please keep an eye out for an updated service map in the coming weeks.

***Overall a lot of changes for our family in the coming weeks, but we’re very excited! I’ll keep everyone updated when I’ll start accepting appointments again. I don’t have a specific date in mind as it all depends on how the labor/delivery/recovery goes. As I stated above, if you need a medication refill in the meantime, I am still available to do so by text/email!***

Several dogs have been diagnosed and are being treated for heartworms so far this year! For all information about prevention, treatment, or recommendations, the American Heartworm Society is the one stop shop for information that gets updated regularly! Long gone are the days that prevention is only recommended for 6 months of the year 😬 To be most effective, it needs to be given monthly, year round combined with a yearly heartworm test to make sure your pup hasn’t spit out, rubbed off, or not digested the heartworm medication properly to develop a break thru infection.

Unfortunately, those that have had to treat their dogs so far for heartworms can attest to the expense of the treatment as well as see how hard it is on their dog’s whole body during the course of the treatment. Thankfully, there is a cure and they can go back to being normal, happy dogs, but it can take several months for this to happen.
