One has to wonder, how big can a trophy whitetail get before nature says "that's the limit!" Not sure, but this big boy is pushing
pretty close!
A nice deer from our local Flying 5 B ranch, owned by John Barber. Thanks John, for the opportunity to work on such a magnificent animal!

Not exactly your normal Texas trophy, this big Alaska browny was sent down to us by a good Alaskan friend, to make into a rug. After having lived in Alaska for 15 years, and working on hundreds of bears, the massive size of these giants of the north, is still awe inspiring!

Operating a taxidermy studio in the heart of Texas, gives us a chance to see our share of big bucks. 300 class deer are regularly produced on the many fine game ranches in the area.
But when a nice deer like this one, harvested by our good friend, Lester Hart, shows up from a" low fence"ranch in west Texas, it grabs your attention for sure!

Axis deer are always a beautiful addition to a trophy collection. When done as a floor pedestal, they are likely to be one of the most eye catching of all the mounts!
This nice buck is on a beautiful Texas mesquite base. Paired with the red dirt and deer tracks, it accents the red coat of the buck.

Big buck on a barrel! One of our favorite pieces to go out recently. This nice trophy is now in route to his new home in Utah. A product of Buxton Ranch, right here in Bosque county, he is proof that some of the best deer in the world, are to be found right here in central Texas!

One of the youngest deer hunters to come in this year. 5 year old Kyler, is all smiles when he picked up his 8 point skull mount! My guess is that he will be hooked for life!
Another one of our good clients is a gentleman pushing 90 years old, who walks with the aid of a walker! He recently collected 4 nice trophies to add to his life long collection! Hunting fever, is sometimes a lifetime condition!

For the last 50 years or so, our goal has been to take a dead deer, and try to make it look alive. Now, the pack frame with a fresh kill look is becoming more popular.
Our good friend, Enoch Crowe, recently picked up his finished trophy, put on an old vintage pack frame. Lot of history was written on the back of it, dating back to the fifties, logging the many trips it had been packed into the mountains!

A very special client, Mr. Wes Hitt, with a very special buck! Wes took his terminally ill dad, on what turned out to be his last hunt. As the two sat in the blind, this monster whitetail stepped out.Dad made a perfect shot with a crossbow, and harvested one of the best deer to come through the shop. We were able to get it mounted in time to surprise the elder Hitt, who fortunately lived long enough to see the finished trophy! May the memories of that special day live on!

A nice pair of king eiders taken by Lance Henkleman. He provided the steel Alaska cutout, and had it powder coated. A perfect reminder of a great duck hunting adventure! I believe his next hunting trip takes him to the opposite corner of the country, Florida, where he hopes to bag another exotic duck or two, to round out his grand slam!

A nice king eider from Alaska, taken by our good friend Lance Henkleman. Notice the antique Japanese glass fishing float. They are often found washed up on the beaches of St.Paul island.
Lance is almost finished with his water fowl grand slam, and has an extensive collection of birds!

Well, it's officially here. The long awaited opener for Texas deer season! While most hunters have been dreaming of trophy bucks, the fact remains that many does are managed and taken each year. What many hunters fail to realize, is that few mounts are as beautiful and graceful as a whitetail doe! Pair one up with that trophy buck, for a real conversation piece!

A wooly giant of the plains, the American bison, or buffalo, once provided the Indian with most every thing they needed. Food, shelter and clothing.
Today, they are still highly prized for their delicious meat, and trophy value. Brandon Villeneuve recently posed with his big bull,
a nice shoulder mount, and a bonus skull mount . We often make reproductions of the horns to install on the head, so the original ones can stay with the skull.

The Aoudad or Barbary sheep from Africa, now thrives in it's North American habitat. Found on many Texas game ranches, and in the desert mountainous regions of southwest Texas and New Mexico, it has become a highly sought after trophy.
This one recently paused for a photo before being shipped to an out of state hunter.

When it comes to excitement and beauty, few wild animals can compare with the whitetail buck! Probably the most sought after trophy in America, they are definitely on the minds of sportsmen as the days get cooler, and hunting seasons are starting to open up!
Here we have one of our wildlife artists, Paul Trayler, giving a last minute inspection to a nice Texas buck before it leaves the shop.

Nice New Mexico pronghorn just finished up. One of the fastest critters on the North American continent, no trophy room is complete without one of these icons of the west!
Often hunted during the early warmer seasons, care must be taken to keep the cape cold on the way back from the hunt.
