Sioux is learning "come around" with my son.
I realized as soon as I started this working from home thing, I am getting no exercise. Took Cherry for a walk around the block the other night, and it occurred to me that I could kill two birds with one stone. Took her out to the sheep and we started driving. She wasn't sure what I wanted at first, but it didn't take long for her to figure it out. So we did quite a bit of walking from one end of the pasture to the other. This was the start of it. Started small inside flanks. Got a little bit, but I can tell it won't take long. Once she figured out what I wanted, I was basically a passenger. I love working this little fart. Looks like we found our exercise method for the next few weeks.
Worked Cherry tonight. Did some close work with her. Drilled a bit on shorter flanks. She's not real big on releasing the draw, which is not surprising. She's a fun little thing ... Just love working her. When we were done, and "getting water," she decided we needed the sheep and went and got them and brought them to me with nice pace, etc. So hard to get mad at her. Anyway, here's a little clip of what I was working on her with.
Went and worked Creek and Cherry today. I realized it had been a while since I worked him. He did well. I forgot how fast he is. Fast and slicey on one side. Lovely on the other. Max and I messed around with the GoPro knockoff and I think we got some video of the dogs but I haven't downloaded it yet. Cherry was full of herself today and got her tail handed to her a couple of times. Hard to do with as cute as she is. She just laughs at me anyway. I don't blame her. Here is a short video I took on my phone. I'm trying to keep my mouth shut and let her feel the top of the outrun. Need to get both of the dogs working wider at the top. Tons to work on. Fix one thing and lose another. The kaleidescope effect.
