It was a perfect day!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for Paws At The Pool today! It was a great success for our first year!

Ruby was adopted!! We have been blessed to get to love sweet Ruby. She was a puppy mill rescue, from her previous life before coming to Wags she was in a kennel so small that she needed bilateral femoral head ostectomy (FHO) surgery. A procedure that removes the head and neck of a dog's femur to relieve pain in hip joints. We were able to get her in for this surgery along with a dental and spay. Ruby has had a rough life before coming to us, but you would never know it because she is the SWEETEST girl. She has recovered amazingly from surgery and is ready for her forever home. ✴️Darla, now known as Delilah update✴️ Update on Delilah: She's extremely loving! I know that's hard to believe, but she loves belly rubs. I send videos and pictures to Erin all the time just to prove it. And to my husband because she still isn't so sure about him. At first, she was like a 50-pound feral cat. Now she's like a 56-pound puppy. She chewed through a few lamp cords and chewed up one of my curtain tie backs, and the beagle was more than happy to help with some of it. She loves to run around the yard, and she is fast! She likes to growl at everyone and hide behind my spider plant, and bite the spider babies off like she's threatening the people she's growling at or something. I can't help but spoil her with tons of treats because I know what she's been through. She loves apples now and pumpkin! She also really loves the cats. One thing I don't appreciate is her hours. She insists on 4am potty time. She will lay back down until about 5:30, but if I don't get up, all she does is whine until she gets her way. She's sassy. Without her rescuers, she probably wouldn't even be alive. This is why you ladies have to keep doing what you do! You shut him down! Be proud. Thank you! Look at her! You guys saved her and made it so he couldn't do this to other dogs ever again! Thank you to whoever took the time to read my long post! I never thought she'd be this far along so soon!

We had some Amish ask for help to get their dogs spayed and neutered. They were so appreciative of our help and so welcoming. ❤️

This is the result of the “doodle” trend. This is the mama of your cute doodle puppy. This is what 2 years of no grooming looks like. This is what 2 years of living in a shed having multiple litters for profit looks like. This is Mara. Our friends at Adams county humane society put out a plea for someone to take in a pregnant golden doodle, so we answered. Despite how awful her life has been, she is SO sweet. We need to raise donations…in the next week her immediate needs will be a veterinarian appointment to ultrasound or X-ray to see if she’s actually pregnant and/or how far along. Dogs are only pregnant for around 63 days so we need to get our ducks in a row. Then she needs to be groomed, and with the severity of mats, she’ll need a professional groomer. These few things alone will cost us hundreds… We’ll update our needs as we come up with a plan! Please donate to her and other dogs like her in our care!
