Amazing classes!

Our next session will begin March 13, 2025 and is held at Pawsitive Pet Services (1911 Hwy 20. Lawton). All classes meet every Thursday for 6 weeks. Read on for specific information about our classes. Please note a comment or message will not enroll you so please call as there needs to be an exchange of information. 712.301.8082. Our classes always fill approximately 4 weeks ahead of their start date so a $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. There is truly nothing more important than training your dog and there is no such thing as "too old" to learn (dog or human HAHA). Nothing builds your relationship closer and faster than formal training. I consider obedience as a "cure all," where it builds confidence in anxious dogs, establishes hierarchy in the family as needed, and gives consistency and rules, something ALL dogs need.

Beginners: Offered from 6:30pm to 7:15pm. Cost is $160 . In Beginners we teach you to train your dog to sit, lie down, sit/stay, down/stay, come when called, stand/stay, heeling, and basic house manners such as jumping, chewing, barking, etc.

Intermediate from 715pm to 8pm: Cost is $135. Intermediate is designed to take up right where Beginners ends through the use of varied and new exercises. Intermediate is fun, effective, and we are working you and your dog towards off leash reliability.

Advanced from 8pm to 8:45pm: Cost is $110. Students in this class have completed Beginners and at least one Intermediate class. Some students are training their dogs to be therapy dogs, are competing, or have just come to really enjoy the one on one time with their best friend.

News - Seagoville, Texas, under SV Judge Harald Hohmann, Luka earned his Wesensüberprüfung (WB assessment). He called Luka a very good dog with a very good temperament and very good drive.
Luka also earned his SG conformation show rating; the best a dog his age can do. Thanks to Shannon O'Donovan for handling.

What is a WB? It's a temperament and drive assessment. Ths is a requirement before any further IGP (Schutzhund) titles can be obtained.
1. Check for microchip, teeth, (testicles for males), and measurement of height.
2. Dog remains with another and is recalled off leash by handler through a group of people. The team then walks around off leash among the group of people.
3. On leash heeling near another dog and handler.
4. Chainsaw without a blade is walked near the dog, then the dog walks to it after it is turned off. A metal pan and chain are clanked, then the dog approaches it and investigates. All of this is done on a loose leash.
5. The handler and dog play together off leash. Another plays with the dog with the toy off leash.
6. Dog walks onto a teeter or rocking platform, then plays with a toy as they stand on it.
7. Dog walks on a ramp onto a raised platform of three tables. Dog must also turn around at the end and walk back over it.
8. Dog is handed to the judge while the handler places a toy under a crate. The dog then is sent to get the toy and bring it back.
9. Dog is brought into a building for a slippery floor. Metal bowls are dropped to watch for a reaction.
10. A toy is thrown in amongst a pile of things. The dog has to walk over items and retrieve the toy.
11. Dog is tied to a post and left. At some point, a stranger approaches the dog and pets it before the handler returns to the dog.
This is a pass/fail test. At the end, the judge gives his or her critique of the dog's performance.
