Training with today in our hometown.

Found new water for duck search, River and Ellie are still learning that there will be ducks out there to find when I send them, it's going to be a good foundation for next year's goals!

Blaze and Maggie preparing for their UT test this end of summer, whatever happens come test day I know we will have some fine dogs to hunt with this fall!!!!

I was all smiles today when I cut Blaze loose and the field we were in allowed him to get out 300+ yards, found his bird at nearly 250 and waited for us, just phenomenal to watch him run and cover ground, I've missed it, beyond happy my boy is back in action!!

If this isn't the most accurate depiction of how our two dogs differ in personalities....Winnie, a 5 month old viszla is here for a day, this was the first time she's been here, so it's a new interaction for all of them. We introduced them individually yesterday evening outside and with that not being an issue we brought them inside to relax for a bit before bed. Again this morning a reintroduction and then free time.

Blaze; most chill dude in the house, could care less about other dogs, though he does play, it's usually when he's wanting to. He and I enjoy our morning couch cuddles and coffee. Completely different in the field, all go!

River; a bit of a monster, loud, and can be a little intimidating at first, but she loves to play, once the other dogs understand her loudness is harmless, the game is on! She's quirky and lovable. I've found she is great at teaching puppies boundaries, she corrects, but not harshly, and has been a great mentor in the woods to help inexperienced dogs/puppies start finding their first wild birds.

Anyways, it's been a fun morning here, I always find it fascinating watching how different dogs interact and build relationships.

We were back at agility last night after several weeks off, enjoy the bloopers....Rivers loving it, I'm making all sorts of mistakes, but we are having fun!

Of course her first run through she did weaves perfectly, the run we recorded not so much..

She makes me smile regardless!

Blaze getting a few short training sessions in this weekend. Everything right now is refresher work and seeing where he's at after months of rest due to injury.

Pleased to say, he's in a good position, as always, needing to clean up retrieve in the field, everything else looks in good shape.

Loved having him back out there doing what he loves!!!

We played a little different game today. The Northern Michigan Retriever club had a training day and we decided to attend.

The only GSPs here today and we had a blast. It was the perfect way to start Blaze back into training at short durations and the girls got extra retrieve practice at a new location, both land and water!

Hunt retrieve tests are always on my bucket list to do with the dogs whenever time (and money) allows, training today for it was a success!!

Happy 3rd Birthday to our Ellie bean!!!

UKC CH Superiorgundog Sweet Eloise CGC RI TKN NA1, GDT 2

This is the happiest little girl in the world, she's turning into a phenomenal little grouse dog, I've shot more birds over her than our others. Training has been easy, with a ton of point and cautiousness on scent. She loves everyone she meets.

Can't wait to see what another year unfolds for her!!!!

Duck search seminar with Kyle Hough, thanks to SEMI NAVHDA for hosting this valuable clinic!!

River has struggled to send on anything she can't visibly see, we overcame that this weekend! She got on a few duck chases, retrieved a few ducks and I watched her excitement level rise drastically for this new game, so much so that Sunday she dragged me down to the water and off she went, we quickly launched her a duck to build confidence and the chase was on!!!

Hoping for a good summer of duck search training and we will be in business next year for UT!!
