AZ MASTIFF RESCUE PLEA UPDATE 4/24/25

URGENT: We’re Losing Our Current Location for our Rescue – 50 Dogs Need Foster OR Homes NOW.

Dear AZ Mastiff Rescue Family,

We’ve spent the last 25 years rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused, and neglected Mastiffs and giant breed dogs. We’ve been their safety net when no one else would step up.

Unfortunately, we had someone that commited to the donation of the purchase of a permanent location we were told he always follows though when we got notice of the sale of our current location. So we were looking to purchase rather then lease. 2 weeks ago we were told we needed to figure something else. So we had to figure out a new strategy of leasing again but unfortunately people would rather lease to people growing cannabis versus dealing with dogs. When you deal with cannabis growers they will pay you way more than the market value unfortunately we can’t do that .

We do have a solid donor who will match up to 250,000. For us to purchase a place. We do have a location in mind it will cost us 550,000. And would be ready for us in July or August. In the meantime we will need to go into boarding at the cost of 600.00 per dog per month. Which no one can substain long term. So we need to get numbers down with adoptions and build up our foster base to keep dogs out of boarding. And some dogs wont do well in boarding and we will have to figure something else out for them.
Adoptions are down and most of the people applying to foster only want to foster a dog they may want to adopt which makes it extremely tough. We now also have to clear out our 6000 sf building. All of us work full time jobs and have families it’s going to be a huge endeavor to say the least. We dont have 1 million for the building we are in. The new property means saving less dogs but on an acre so more areas to play which is great for the dogs.

So Now, we are the ones in need of rescue.

Our lease will not be renewed, and the property is being sold.�We must vacate by the end of April.�We currently have over 50 giant dogs who will be homeless.
We’re doing everything we can, but we cannot do it alone.
