SHORT-TERM FOSTERS NEED IN MIAMI-DADE & BROWARD COUNTY

We are looking for a couple of temp foster who could keep a rabbit for 1-2 weeks as their regular foster travel. We will provide all the supplies you'll need!

Dora is looking for a temp foster April 22 - May 1.

Dora is estimated to be 3 years old and has been waiting in a foster home for her forever family to find her, her entire life. 3 years is too long! Dora is spayed, litter box trained and her fosters describe her as an adventurous rabbit with a curious spirit.

Jay is a curious, playful and goofy medium sized Dutch mix. He is estimated to be 2-3 years old, weighs 5lb, is neutered and perfectly litter box trained. Like most rabbits, he takes around 2-3 weeks to fully open up but once he does he’ll be your best friend and constantly have you laughing at his antics. Such as finding ways to squeeze into the tiniest space between his pen and other items like his bed.

Sydney is a 5-6 y/o, spayed, lion-head mix. She was rescued in January 2022 after being found as a stray. That’s right, this agouti cutie has been waiting over 3 YEARS for a forever home!

Her 6th birthday is coming up in July and we really hope she gets to celebrate it with her forever family.

Honeybun & Buttercup are adopted 🎉

This senior bonded pair was surrendered earlier this year after their family relocated abroad. Despite how much they loved their guinea pigs, taking them along sadly wasn’t an option. We initially expected these girls would remain in our program as sanctuaries. Assuming that adoption applications for a bonded pair of 4.5-year-old guinea pigs would be .. unlikely. But we were wrong! In February, after Willow’s family sadly lost one of their guinea pigs, they decided to open their hearts to a new friend for her. They ended up getting 2!

We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect retirement home for these two, where they will continue to receive the love and care they deserve.

We are a foster home based rescue so our ability to help rehome guinea pigs like Honeybun & Buttercup depends on the availability of foster homes. If you would like to temporarily foster a pair of pigs as they wait for their forever home please join our team!

Maverick is starting to feel pretty down about not getting any foster or adoption applications.

This adorable Florida White mix is estimated to be only 7 months old and was found as a stray around November 2024. His rescuer did all the right things; she took him home, got him checked out at the vet and neutered and reached out to us for help finding him a forever home. But, as much as she enjoys his company the resident Pomeranians are not having it. We’d love to find him a foster or forever home ASAP.

Social, friendly and litterbox trained Maverick is the perfect bunny for first timers. Ruby eyed white rabbits are known for being especially smart and docile however because some people don’t like the color of their eyes (which we think is GORGEOUS) they can spend years in rescue being over looked. We hope that’s not going to be the case for Maverick.

Last week, Sydney made a new friend!

Her foster was amazed at how much more social and active Sydney became after meeting Bentley, her brother’s 6 year old Shih-tzu / Yorkie mix. Sydney usually spends her days napping and just vibing, but with Bentley she came out of her shell and was running around and playing. They hit it off so well that Sydney’s foster even asked to keep Bentley overnight!

Sydney has been a bit 🌶️ with other rabbits in the past (though we’re always open to trying introductions in case the right match comes along) so we thought she was destined for the single life but since she clearly enjoys the company of small dogs so much, we’ll be updating her bio to reflect that.

We’ll now be looking for a forever family where Sydney can have a small dog friend to play with. Not all dogs are compatible with rabbits, larger breeds or those with a high prey drive can be very dangerous, but Shih-tzu’s seem to usually work very well.
