PSA:

We lost Vanna almost 1 year ago. It was sudden. We were at the vet for a completely different issue, ironically, and she kept going into V-tach which couldn't be controlled. She was also found to have an enlarged heart. They were fabulous but sadly, giving her peace was unavoidable.
It's taken me a full year to put 2 and 2 together. There is no guarantee that this was the cause of Vanna's enlarged heart, but I do know I will never give Penny or any other dog grain-free food again.

•DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy) is a disease of a dog's heart muscle and results in an enlarged heart.

•compounding research illustrates a strong correlation between grain-free diets and canine heart disease such as dilated cardiomyopathy.

**Remember, it is always best to speak with your vet for advice**

ARE YOU WORTH COMING BACK TO?

I often think about what would happen if my dog or a dog I was watching were to get away from me and I were calling for him or her to come back to me. Would that dog come back? A dog's instinct is to run, sniff, smell, and explore. Many times, myself included, we get frustrated when our dogs don't come to us when we want them to. So eventually we start yelling and demanding that they come to us. Then when they finally do, we may not be very happy because we are frustrated that they didn't come when we wanted them to.
However, for a dog to come back to us we need to be just the opposite. We need to be happy and excited for them to return to us or else why would they want to?
"An exciting scent or seeing something to chase can all override a response to recall...the most common reason that dogs don’t come back when called is because it’s not a positive experience.
Make coming back to you worth it by always making it a rewarding experience and keep practicing this throughout a dog’s life. Have a little patience if it takes longer than you would like, let your dog finish what they’re doing before calling them, practice in different locations and environments and never reprimand or punish them for coming back."~Dogs Disclosed 💜🐾
