::Imagination needed::

This area next to our play yard will soon be a cleared open area. The idea is to create a new place for our dogs to play and enjoy the outdoors. With this idea comes cost. The shelter is looking for donations to help create our dream and turn it into a reality. Additional fencing will be needed and we would love to have dog friendly turf for our canine friends to run about and play. If you are able to help with this project, the staff and animals would greatly appreciate it. Any donations can be dropped off at the shelter, 50 Joe Ciaglo Way in Middleboro or also to the Health Office at 20 Center St. 2nd Floor in Middleboro. Please share so we can spread the word and get these animals the play yard they deserve!

Update!!!! Kaiser surgery has been covered by a generous donor!! Thank you so much to the community for all your help. We are forming a medical fund for the shelter animals if you still would like to donate.

This handsome gent is Kaiser. We are trying to raise funds to have the mass on his leg removed. The mass has been checked by two different vets and they say it is benign. However, where it is located on his upper thigh. Kaiser tends to bump it and it bleeds ever so slightly. We want Kaiser to be comfortable. And we do not want to risk it getting caught on something and causing damage. Chase Veterinary Clinic has estimated the surgery to be between $700-$1,000.

Donations for Kaiser's mass removal surgery can be dropped off directly to the shelter at 50 Joe Ciaglo Way Middleborough, Ma. Or sent/called in directly to Chase Veterinary Clinic.

12/21/23 - Stanley from Carver is safe! Sightings tracked him to about 2.5 miles away (stopping at a horse farm and a solar farm along the way) from where he bolted from his brand new home. He was seen in a yard this evening, neighbors brought their dog out which got him to play and eventually someone was able to get a chain collar on him. He is exhausted but safe and on his way to be checked out at Cape Cod veterinarian. Thanks to MDM volunteers Jess K and Carey K for assisting the family.

MISSING 12-20-23 Carver MA: "Stanley" is a male Golden Retriever, cream in color, 5 yrs/70 lbs., missing from Murdock St/Purchase St (near: Lee Rd Farm).

Stanley is very very shy and new to area. If you see or have any info about him, call 561-252-8489 or 508-789-1467.

Who has an empty couch that needs a beautiful Great Dane to take over? Reagan is still up for adoption! She’s waiting for that perfect home with an extra large couch to take her naps on. Reagan is easy going, is on a daily allergy pill, loves her food and loves her naps. She can be very selective to which dogs she likes. She seems to do fine with dogs who match her energy and not so good with dogs who want to be in her business. If Reagan fits what you are looking for, please reach out to the shelter at 508-946-2455! A HUGE thank you to Allie Murphy for raising over $2000 and buying our ENTIRE Amazon wish list, dog food, treats, blankets, and supplies for the shelter for Christmas! She also made stockings for each animal we have here at the shelter! Please give Allie some appreciation and her wonderful parents for raising such a rock star!!

Animal Control is looking for information on a deceased dog found in the Cemetery at The Green located on Plympton St. in Middleboro. The dog was a neutered male, grey and white Pit Bull, with a microchip registered to the Jacksonville FL Humane Society. Attempts have been made to contact the Jacksonville Humane Society without any luck as of yet. From information gained by his microchip, the dog’s name is Buddy and is 10 years old. If anyone has any information on this dog or an owner, please reach out to Animal Control at 508-946-2455. Thank you.

The shelter is in need of a few items! Paper towels, Lysol All Purpose cleaner, and the biggest item is Wysiwash Jacketed Caplets! We use our Wysiwash system to clean all kennels and inside kennel floors to keep everything sanitary and safe for each animal that comes into the shelter! If you are able to help with any of these items, we would be very thankful! Items can be dropped off or sent to 50 Joe Ciaglo Way, Middleboro MA Thank you!

Meet Bella & Benji

These two kittens were found on the road, presumed to be dumped. They are about 5 months old and looking for their forever home. They will be adopted out as a bonded pair, so two times the fun! They are very attached to each other and have been through a lot together. Bella and Benji are still learning to trust humans so they are still a bit skittish, but when they want cuddles they sure do let you know. I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated items this past week! If you have more things to be donated, I ask that you please hold onto the items as we are running out of space. In the next couple of weeks, when we are able to take more things in, we will make another post! We do have an amazon wish list for other items for the shelter that we could use. Thank you again!
