Wattles

Surrounded by family our precious Wattles left us this morning. No amount of time could prepare us for his crossing. The days ahead are going to be so difficult to get through. Wattles is our heart and soul. He is our first pig and the inspiration for the founding of Broome Animal Sanctuary. He was our Goodwill Ambassador and our precious baby boy. The tears have fallen all day and will continue to fall for a very long time. While we try to figure out how to cope with life without physical Wattles, we are going to take some personal time to mourn and grieve. Please understand if we don’t respond to messages or calls right away.

Fly high Wattles. You are no longer suffering. We hope your little brother Woody was waiting to greet you when you crossed over. We love you so much, our precious baby boy.

The cold always makes me sluggish, but this extreme cold shuts me down completely. I have no appetite so Papa Greg came out and put a commercial heater in my outer run in and put warm blankets on me. He’s laying with me to keep me company and make sure I’m staying warm and giving me water. Hopefully I’m feeling better soon. I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas.

While I know that Santa wouldn't make it here for hours yet, it seemed important enough for Dad to wear a fake beard when he brought me a hot blanket so I played along and let him eat one of the cookies I left out for the real Santa. I love my dad's enough to let them have cookies...Merry Christmas everyone

I had a rough few months, but I’m starting to feel so much better. I’m not a fan of the animal hospital so I would not cooperate with the papas when they wanted me to go to Cornell Large Animal Hospital. Each day the papas would come out and hand feed me and syringe Pedialyte and prune juice into me so that I stayed hydrated regular. They thought they could fool me, but I know they were slipping prescriptions and supplements into my treats, I just played along to make they happy. Well, for the most part. I continue to feel better each day. Thank you for sending all of the messages to the papas, they read them to me and it helps me to know that some many of you love me and care about me. Oinks of Love ❤️

My compliments to the chef. Breakfast was extra yummy this morning. The peanut butter-pumpkin-oatmeal topped with Strawberry Newton’s added the perfect mushiness to the pellets.

Did I sleep through spring, summer and fall? It was a beautiful warm and sunny day just yesterday. When I woke up it felt like winter all over again. I’m so confused. I need hot cocoa and warm pastries to help make sense of it all.
