Today’s lesson was inside! We made homemade pill pockets for the horses. While we waited for them to cook we read a book about Clydesdales. Did you know that Clydesdales are a threatened species? About 5000 worldwide!

During the winter months we are doing a new format in our lesson. There is a classroom portion where students learn new aspects of horse care, riding or anything educational. We lunge the student on a new horse each week. Which is neat because kids get to feel the movement of horses they would not be able to ride by themselves. Kids get to work on their seat, balance, coordination without having to worry about steering or controlling the horse. Classes are Monday, Friday and Saturday if anyone is interested in continuing their horsemanship through the winter.
