This guy is available! He has been with the same family since December and taught their kids everything they need to know! His knees have continued to not bother him he has not been injected but please read entire ad as his situation will stay the same. They have been using his as a lead line. I have current videos of him in the comments. They are asking what they paid for him 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣. Their kids are ready for a step up horse and need to empty a stall first. If you’re looking for fancy broke, soft, in the bridle, hard stop and will work all day long this is your guy!
He is one hell on an 8 year old. He has done it all outside, work the sale barns, stopped cattle, will spin a hole in the ground off leg cues alone, carries a low head absolutely no silliness to him. These like him do not last long. Calhoun was not as broke to death as this guy and was sold in 24 hours. We welcome anyone to come try him, ride him, take for a PPE etc. He is ready to take straight to the arena and would make a phenomenal breakaway horse. He is quick to a cow in the pasture, won’t be outrun. He is not for an inexperienced rider. He has far too many buttons and an engine that will outrun most. If Sam could finish them in the arena like he was before his accident this guy for be here another 120 days and doubled in price. He has the looks, build and mind. Located in midland tx. After talking to Sam’s dr’s it’s going to be much longer than he liked to hear before he can finish Calhoun. He’ll have one more surgery before he has the flexibility back and is healed enough to finish him out on the head side. That said. Calhoun is officially on the market. He is not cheap. He will stay here and sit. I’m in no hurry. He’s a finished ranch horse. You will not find one more broke than him. He has absolutely no buck bite kick or idiot to him. He will be the same every time you get on him. He is what got Sam back horseback this summer after 3 months off. He has a slow and correct start on the head side. Chasing the sled and a few runs on live cattle. He had been to work more than most at his age when we got him 9 months ago. He weighs 1280 and stands 15.2. He is 100% sound in every way. Dog gentle, easy to catch, easy to shoe, easy to bathe. He’s been hauled everywhere you can think of. Carried Sam to sort and work cattle at our ranch rodeo and in cattle sales. He is cowy. I cannot say enough good about him. Not a single negative thing to say. 1️⃣5️⃣k preference to a performance home where he can thrive on the head side. He leaves the box flat and strong. He truly loves getting these ponies going and finishing them for other kiddos. Before he gets a fancy handle put on this girl he’s offering her up. Price will increase if he puts a fancy handle on her. She doesn’t side pass, spin out from under ya or neck rein, yet. She will bridle up, w/t/l without problem and is gentle, gentle, gentle. Handles traffics fine has been down the road and hauled plenty. Stands tied fine, handles fly spray fine, not mareish. I wouldn’t say she’s for a total beginner but she’s safe for just about anyone with a seat. She is 5 years old and stands just shy of 13.2 hands. Ranger is consigned to Bowie Texas Livestock: Consignment Horses this weekend. This guy is a jam up ranch horse. Set him off for any amount of time and hop right back on and go to work. Absolutely no buck, spook, rear or kick to him. He sat off for 5 years and we hopped on no problem. He totes Taylor around without issue. He’s gentle gentle. Carries his head about 2 inches from the ground. Very soft in the mouth, fancy broke. He’s the kind you want in your barn. Ole’ reliable.

He came in needing weight and we’ve put 60 days of feed into him. Another 150 pounds wouldn’t hurt him but he’s in good enough shape now that he can start making a little kiddo or family a great horse for summer.

Nothing fancy about him, he’s an old ranch horse. We always say we’d rather have safe than pretty. This guy is just that. He’s not going to be the fastest but he will be safe.

Intact as of now but have an appointment to be fixed if new owners would like to keep that free appointment. They are about a year old. They were dumped.
