Fabio the mini stud is basically in boot camp!
He is back to ground driving. The goal is to cart train him. And he has been letting little kids ride and climb all over him!

Poppy the beautiful black Morgan filly
She is doing great and learning how to lead properly and not jump on top of you.
She can lead via a quad.
She can lunge both directions.
She is getting calmer when being saddled.
She is learning walk/trot/stop/back under saddle.
Poppy’s personality is puppy dog with a touch of sass. She tries to please but she doesn’t appreciate a lot of pressure. So the training method we are using with her is a mixed of pressure and release as well as positive reinforcement.
Sometimes a treat goes a long way!

Update on my project filly
Poppy is lunging great going towards the left. She doesn’t understand what’s being asking of her yet going to the right, when her blind eye is towards me.
She accepted the saddle but was a touch nervous. She never bucked or anything, she just wanted to be closer to me.
She got lots of treats to get her to lick and chewy and relax a little.
I also laid on top of her. She was okay with it. Just weirded out😆
She is extremely smart and willing.
When I first picked her up. It took 4 people and an hour to load her.
The other day her first time off property to an indoor. She took less than 5 minutes to load. And on the way home, she walked right into the trailer.

The Bantam chicks got moved out of the barn for the first time and into their temporary chicken coop.
Until theirs is finished and the meat chicks are bigger and can be outside without me worrying about them getting out.

Today we prepped Rocky for our trail ride on Monday. It’ll probably be at least 2-3 hours. If not longer.
Charlie rode Rocky and I drove the quad so I could stop and clear branches.
This was his first time crossing a log like this and being out on the trails with someone on his back. I’ve walked him out here

Did I ride during a thunderstorm?
Yes.
Would I normally?
No.
And I also rode on Rocky, my almost 4 year old Morgan gelding with less than 20 rides on him.
I needed a ride today. I wasn’t going to let a small storm stop me. He didn’t even flinch.
He cantered on lunge with Charlie (not my Charlie😂) and he’s getting better at picking it up.
Then I rode him trot/stop/trot. Boy can he stop. Popped me out of the saddle a few times with how good he can stop.

Scraping all the old hay and horse💩 from winter.
(We do this periodically throughout summer and fall. Winter it obviously builds up because of the snow or rain depending on Michigan and so we aren’t able to scrap the pasture)

Chase is getting shoes on Wednesday. So we are getting him used to the bell boots.
Dewy doesn’t wear bell boots because he doesn’t track up to clip the back of his shoes. So I never had to worry with Dewy.
But since Chase doesn’t have Dewy’s problems. I present to you Chase wondering what is happening.
