Fabio is a miniature horse so he can’t be on 24/7 round bale. But he gets a hey net filled up that lasts him around 24 hours. This helps prevent ulcers.

What did Fabio do today? He got ponied by the quad. We picked up Charlie and walked home. And we practiced walking and trotting on the lead.

He is such a good “pony.”

He is an 8 year old mini stallion (soon to be gelded) Standing 35” tall.

He is going to be trained to ride and drive. He already ground drives

The crew of Morning Dew Farm’s is home from the long week of fair!

Thank you to Lexi and Silas for are the hard work. They kept the stalls cleaned and made sure horses had hay and water at all times.

I’m especially proud of Lexi and Chase. They placed in 3 classes and they had some fantastic rides. Probably their best rides yet! Chase surprised us all and cantered through the pole pattern! He did amazing with everything asked of him.

Scarlet and I did good with our speed classes. We just trotted through to get a feel. I don’t want a blown up speed horse. She’s got potential for everything.

Dewy and Silas did great with speed. No  ribbons or placings but Dewy is a pleasure bred Morgan so he’s not built for speed.

Rocky was a good moral support. He got walked around, lunged and poined. He kept everyone entertained.

The radio was turned up because of the coyotes so we didn’t hear her.

Scarlet and I have been struggling to find a nice rhythm cantering. Every time I asked she would canter and it felt like bucking (she wasn’t) so I decided to take her down to Hastings for a lesson.

And the problem?

Was a lot of tension in her shoulders. So we worked on roll backs at the trot. Boy did she not want to do it at first.

After getting her shoulders moving and her softening up. I took her around the arena and asked for the canter in the corner to get the correct lead.

Her canters were a lot smooth! She struggled with the left lead more and at the end was still more rough on that side. But to fix it we will be working on more shoulder work and moving off the shoulder. Her right lead wasn’t perfect but it was definitely the better lead.

Shoulders are the key to control!

This incubator holds 12 eggs. Whoever guess the amount of eggs that they think will hatch, will get a chick (I haven’t decided if it’ll be a chick from my last hatch or this one)

Answer could be anywhere from 0-12

There is about 11 days until they hatch.

Oreo is a new to the farm.

He does not have a pedigree and is 3 years old. So far he is calm and sweet. He has let us hold him.
