Little update on Baboo 9/14
His surgery went good. His eye removed. They put 2 screws in his hip area and it went great. He was also neutered.
What a day for this guy, but so grateful he was able to get help.
They said he is resting and on pain meds. But did try to sit up this morning.
We will keep the updates coming and try to get some new pics of him. If we can get over there or if they can send us some.
Takes a village to do this and we are sure grateful. โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Update โค๏ธ
First we want to say THANK YOU for all the kind generosity and kind words and prayers.
So many amazing people coming together for this sweet boy that endured such a horrible thing today. And we are so grateful to all of you. So so much.
We just can't believe he survived everything. And thank God to the people who witnessed and ran to help.
We aren't positive who in fact had actual ownership of this dog but the person who had him in the truck apparently did.
Two people did go to shelter and owner released him. One at first didn't want to, until they saw his actual injuries and knew this was something they could not handle. We assume it was his first owners before he was rehomed.
As for his medical
When we spoke to our vet as Baboo was going into surgery. They were first going to do the eye surgery, then start on his hip.
The hip is going to need screws to hold it in place. When they called back, they had tried to re-adjust and put it in place but it wouldn't hold.
Baboo has sure been a champion. Through everything he was so sweet and allowed the techs to help him. He seems to be in a bit of shock and was so exhausted but never fought anyone.
He will stay at the vet over the weekend and we'll definitely continue the updates as they come in.
Where there is bad. There is also good.
We believe this and see this every day in rescue.
With all the sadness comes hope.
And it restores our faith each time.
To which keeps us going and fighting.

We have a major medical emergency dog we are taking asap!
As many of you know and saw the upsetting post about the dog falling from the back of a pickup truck, rolling across pavement and several kind people jumped in to help.
And ACO went and got him.
After alot of back and forth and planning we contact the shelter
Midland Animal Services and said if needed we would take him.
After several phone calls made by the shelter they were able to track down who actually owns the dog. He was apparently rehomed and not sure after that what took place.
However the people were in fact contacted and as bad as they wanted to take him, they can't afford the care that would be needed. So they are releasing the dog (Baboo) to city shelter.
Which in turn being transferred to our rescue.
We are taking him to our vet
Big Spring Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital because that can see him asap. And we work with them alot.
The extent of this dogs injuries is pretty severe.
Aside of the ruptured eye
He has possible broken bones, bleeding from mouth, in horrible pain, etc. Possibly internal bleeding.
We don't know yet until he is seen, has xrays done to know the extent of everything.
We will update asap as we are in the process of picking him up and driving 45 mins to our vet safely.
When everything is done we will give an update and pray he makes it.
