Canine influenza, sometimes referred to as dog flu, is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by two specific type A influenza viruses known to infect dogs. One is an H3N8 virus, and the other is an H3N2 virus.
Most dogs in North America have no preexisting immunity to canine influenza virus, making them highly susceptible to infection.
Talk to your vet or call us to schedule an appt for the influenza vaccine to help make sure your pets are protected!

Elite has an exciting week beginning tomorrow with a potential new Veterinarian starting and another one coming at the end of this month!
There is a huge need for vets all over and we are blessed enough to have a few interested in our hospital!
We will have available appointments tomorrow-Friday 12th but also all month into February, as we try to establish what we can do for the community as a non-corporate hospital having two, possibly THREE vets hanging out with us!

Dutch the house hippo, had his ACL repaired today at Elite! Shout out to Dr. Bailey for coming out and getting it done with us! We look forward to helping more patients needing orthopedic surgeries without having to travel for hours!

Sheldon came in with his parents today after not acting like himself last night. After a few tests, Dr Werbelow found he had pancreatitis! With some supportive care and treatment, sweet Sheldon is on his way to recovery!

Rocky was attacked by another dog through a fence 2months ago, just as his owner lost his income. Initial triage and treatment started, with help of public donations and assistance from unnamed donors.
The leg has been saved from amputation with repeated veterinary bandage changes and diligent care from owner!! It is almost healed! 🥹

If you would like to help Rocky’s sweet owner, you can make contact with him (William Biggs) on Facebook to see what is owed. We all have ran into difficult situations, and he’s trying his very best!

Thankful we are able to help cases like these with the support of our awesome community! ❤️
