Thank YOU for coming out Sat as well as the many messages of support. This has really meant a lot to me. Our venture would never had occurred without public support. Thank you for making that possible! I was also pleasantly surprised at the number of comments about our history which I edited for both space and not knowing if it was of interest at all. I am rethinking that now. 😊

It is so important to acknowledge 2 VERY SPECIAL people who have been key to our Anniversary Celebration as well as our recent growth. What is even better, they hit it off from day one! Pam Johnson has been instrumental in our increased pet products additions. It was her encouragement on creating an anniversary event and she worked tirelessly on it and everything else that came her way. Velvet Linker, who joined our Team in Feb, has been a ray of sunshine, humor and effectiveness (we call it “Velvetized”) from Day One. She knocks it out of the park everyday! Thank you Pam & Velvet for all that you do. Girl Power does rock!! 😆😆

Sat was a VERY special day! Thank you to all who attended!! It was definitely a record day. Through the years, I’ve been blessed with a lot of really talented people (and others I’ll save for my autobiography 😆😆) that made this job ‘work’ but I’m ESPECIALLY PROUD of this Team! They worked very LONG hours, never complained, shared some laughs … and we got it done. Jimmy Linker, Daniel I’Reilly, Velvet Linker (and Bailey Tucker, who was not available when we did this photo) made this work so well. I am so grateful to each of them !!

Bixbys Maple Syrup is a family run maple syrup business from upstate Pennsylvania. I met them accidentally over a mutual customer who lived nearby who introduced us. We’ve carried a few local specialty food items for years like honey and BBQ sauce as a novelty so I was ‘in’. Their product is SO tasty and gives ‘maple syrup’ a new meaning!! This year they introduced their Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup which is perfection. I am so excited that the Bixby’s are going to be HERE Sat with tastings of their syrup products. They are a charming couple and I can’t wait for you to meet them.

In 2006, I was able to secure a new location that we are in today. (Thanks to Ms Joyce Beatty for believing in me!!). One of the hardest things I’ve done was walk away from the place I had grown up in. I also knew we could not survive where we were at. Despite the perfect location, the toughest years lay ahead. This photo is around 2015.

2004 when we celebrated the 50th. I put together a cartoon for my daughters to have and decided to make kids tee shirts with it. We were facing a lot of challenges though, and it was quite exhausting. My father was constantly pressuring to close the mill (to focus on the property rentals), I was determined to keep the business going. Business was quite good. We had found a new focus away from our seed cleaning, farm supply roots and centered more attention on our thriving equine and lawn/garden business. Big changes though were coming soon and it was the furtherest thing from my mind.
