We have one Helfrich’s Firefish in stock! They are a rare gem from the firefish family. Firefish have been a marine aquarium favorite because they are beautifully colored, peaceful toward other fishes, small enough to be easily housed in most aquariums, easy to feed, and not at all prone to disease. Firefishes pose no threat to invertebrates and are thus ideal for reef aquariums. Nemateleotris helfrichi is perhaps the most beautiful of all the firefishes.

This large Splatter Bubble Coral will make a bold centerpiece that commands attention! If you’re after a showstopper that brings volume, motion, and texture to your reef setup, the Bubble Coral stands out immediately in any tank. This coral gets its name from its signature oversized vesicles, or “bubbles,” which expand dramatically during the day and recede at night to expose hidden feeding tentacles. These sweeper tentacles means it needs space so it won’t sting other corals. Moderate to low lighting and water flow are required as well as a once a week spot feeding.

The Golden Bali Angel requires a minimum tank size of 55 gallons with plenty of hiding places and live rock for grazing. Place the rock work with multiple places to hide so they will feel secure. This Angelfish is best kept as the only dwarf angel in a tank. In the reef aquarium, caution should be used since this species has been known to nip at corals as well as Xenia corals. In most cases they will not damage corals.

The Golden Angel is an omnivore feeding on a mixture of algae, coral polyps, sponges and diatoms in the wild. In aquariums they may be fed with a variety of foods such as dried flakes, spirulina and meaty foods like shrimp.

The Lemonpeel Angelfish is one of the more popular dwarf angels in the hobby. Caution must be taken though, as these fish can be aggressive towards others. Lemonpeels are omniverous, and need a diet of both algae and meaty prepared foods. Macroalgae, spirulina enriched foods, and mysis shrimp are suggested. These angelfish are known to nip at both corals and clams. Lemonpeels are territorial, and will seek out an area of the tank to defend. They are known to be aggressive not only towards other dwarf angels, but also any similarly-sized or colored fish. It is adviseable to add this fish last if smaller fish are also present. Larger fish are typically unaffected. One of the larger pygmy angels, the Angelpeel grows up to 6″ in length. There are found throughout the South Pacific, as far south as Australia, as far east as Easter Island.

Clown Triggerfish are a unique species with vibrant coloring and unusual behaviors that make them an excellent addition to an aquarium with tropical conditions and the right companion fish. These fish are carnivorous predators who pack a mean bite. They are unique swimmers because instead of relying on their tailfins for propulsion through the water, they constantly move their dorsal and pectoral fins to get around. This adaptation makes them agile swimmers, capable of bursts of speed when they use their tailfin.
They live along the edges of reefs, near the drop into open water across the Indo-Pacific region, off the coast of South Africa, and in the western Atlantic. These tropically adapted fish venture from the reef’s shallows to depths of 250 feet.

Clown Triggers have four upper and four lower teeth that are multi-purpose tools. They constantly grow because the fish prey on hard-shelled invertebrates. They also use their teeth to cling to rocks, making it easier to anchor themselves in crevices to hide from predators.

Marine biologists estimate the lifespan of clown triggerfish to be about 8 years in the wild. In captivity, aquarists report Clown Triggerfish can live up to 20 years with proper care and tank conditions and can grow up to 19 inches long.
