We are a full service facility, with digital radiology, two surgical suites and we have a full service pharmacy both in-house and online. We also offer acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine We pride ourselves in having a warm, welcoming clinic and offering a comfortable visit for you and your pet.

This week is National LVT Week and we are lucky enough to have not one but three AMAZING LVTS. We wanted to highlight a little bit about what makes them so amazing.

Our final LVT we are honoring this week is the newest addition to our LVT Team Hannah Don't let her short tenure at WAH fool you, Hannah jumped in and hit the ground running. Her love for her patients and her amazing personality have left everyone at WAH feeling like she has been a member of our team for far longer!

This week is National LVT Week and we are lucky enough to have not one but three AMAZING LVTS. We wanted to highlight a little bit about what makes them so amazing.

Next up is our Head Technician Roy. Roy has been with us for 9 years and in those nine years his dedication to his patients and his passion for Vetmed and learning have elevated him from someone who had no experience in the field to a leadership position on our team. Roy is the go to "fix it guy" in our clinic from calming large breed patients to IT issues to construction projects - you can always find Roy assisting a co-worker. We are so lucky to have Roy on our team!

This week is National LVT Week and we are lucky enough to have not one but three AMAZING LVTS. We wanted to highlight a little bit about what makes them so amazing.

First up is Claire! Claire has spent the last year completing her certification in hospice & palliative care for animals through the IAAHPC. We are in awe of her commitment to strengthening the human, animal bond even to the end and are so proud of all of her hard work to share her passions of making the rainbow bridge transition as peaceful for owners as it is their pets.

Our next Serve Spotlight is on the team at Woodlake Animal Hospital who has partnered with Chesterfield Animal Services to establish a food pantry inside the shelter, helping families in need afford food for their pets. This summer, the hospital completed an exterior drop-off point where community members can take a bag or case of pet food if they are struggling financially.

In the Eastern Kentucky area of Appalachia, Roy and Kaylee Hernandez of Woodlake Animal Hospital have been quietly making a big difference and this year expanded their efforts through the creation of a new charity organization: Hills and Hollers. This charity continues the work they've been doing for seven years to bring hope to some of America's poorest counties, providing essential supplies and support to families in need. Roy and Kaylee created Hills and Hollers to reach every "Hill and Holler" they could with support that includes school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, food boxes, Christmas presents, kids camps, and service projects.

🌞HEAT ADVISORY ADVICE🌞

As temperatures in the commonwealth continue to rise in these summer months it is more important than ever to be in tune with your pet's needs and aware of the unique dangers that summer can bring. Pets are unable to sweat all over their bodies like people can. They rely completely upon panting (to get rid of hot air and inhale cool air) to cool themselves. Some sweating occurs through their foot pads and nose, but this is insufficient to effectively cool them. These differences in pets make them especially prone to heatstroke during hot, humid weather.
