I’m so glad Governor Kemp signed this bill. Now we can finally go enjoy fireworks without having to worry about someone setting them off near our farm. Before, we had to stay home because we were afraid the horses might get spooked and jump the fence. This brings real peace of mind.

House Bill 614, signed into law by Governor Kemp on May 14, 2025, allows local governments to ban consumer fireworks within 200 yards of equine facilities (including barns, arenas, pastures). Municipalities can also issue special-event permits for controlled fireworks events, even within that zone
