Some people discover their love of horses themselves, but I was lucky enough to have a mom to show me. My mom recently found this amazing picture of her and her first horse Cinnamon. What an amazing picture! Cori Tuyls wins the highest jumper of the family, I max out at about a foot. Love you more mom, we're badass! 🥰

Registration is now open for a 4-week Intro to Horses group lesson series! If you have considered signing up your child for private horseback riding lessons with us this is the perfect opportunity to introduce them to working with horses.

When: Monday nights: March 11, 18, 25, and April 1 from 5-6PM
What: Four 1 hour small group lessons focused on learning about handling animals, horse care, teamwork, ranch life, and much more!

Registration is limited. Release of liability paperwork is required to be completed before working with animals.

Our non-profit Sunset Sanctuary, inc. is hosting a kids' camp at the ranch on December 29! These are so fun! :)

Winter break is coming soon! If you are looking for a fun winter camp for your children on their day off of school, here it is!

**Milford Dew Ranch Winter Kids Camp**

Friday, December 29 from 11 am to 2 pm
Location: Milford Dew Ranch
Price: $75 donation to Sunset Sanctuary, inc. (This is a fundraiser for our non-profit)

Campers will be:
-Interacting with and learning about the goats, guinea pig, chickens, dogs, kittens, fish, horses, and miniature donkey.
-Eating lunch with new friends (lunch provided)!
-Learning about ranch life, and animal care.
-Creating winter and ranch-themed arts and crafts
-Decorating sweet treats
-Playing fun winter and ranch-themed games
-Snow art and sledding (weather permitting)
-And much more!

🎄⛄️We are blessed to live in the community of Lake Mills and would like to provide two local families in need with a fun holiday memory at Milford Dew Ranch. ⛄️🎄

All of our business's missions have a dedicated foundation in helping others in any way we can, and we are so very happy to give back to our community this holiday season.

The two families selected will receive the following:

-Meet and greet with all of the farm animals at Milford Dew Ranch, (may include a horse ride, permitting)
-Lunch and dessert at Milford Dew Ranch with a fun holiday craft
-Family pictures with Mickey the Miniature Donkey or one of our horses dressed up as Santa Clause (or Mrs. Clause if it is Flicka!). All of the other animals are an added bonus :)
-Holiday baking basket for a family baking night
-Sledding (permitting)
-Gifts based on needs list from the family

Please PM us or Dana Tuyls your completed nomination form for a family in need no later than November 18. You can nominate multiple families.

Two families will be selected and notified no later than November 21st. Once they are selected and we know their needs, ages, and sizes we will be taking donations for winter items, educational games, and general items to gift to them that are on their needs list. If you would like to help directly sponsor this event please contact us or Dana Tuyls.

Release of liability waiver must be signed by the participating family. If the family would prefer, the release of consent for pictures, social media posting, etc. can be deleted from the waiver if they would like to remain anonymous. We respect these families' privacy and will agree to not make any social media posts about specific families per their request. Date of ranch visit will be coordinated between Dana Tuyls and the selected families.

Please share so that we can spread the word to the community and have the greatest impact on two families that may need a little extra holiday cheer this season.

So proud of our non-profit!

I can't say enough about the amount of support we received for our first event to kick off our non-profit. We had an amazing day! The sun was shining, it wasn't windy or raining or snowing, and everything flowed perfectly. Mickey the donkey was able to walk around and meet everyone while they played games, ate Doyle's Dogs, fed animals treats, checked out our merchandise table, sat in the yard and enjoyed some good views, and bid on silent auction items. We had an amazing travel bag in our silent auction from The Corner Mercantile that was a hit!

THANK YOU so much to all of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and everyone who offered their support that they could. I was able to have two foreign exchange students from Egypt and Thailand, parents, 4H members, FFA members, family, friends, and many others volunteer for the event. I wish we had gotten the other half of the volunteers in the picture, but we were all so busy we didn't have time until the end! I am so incredibly humbled by the amount of support that this non-profit has received so far.

If you have any pictures from the event please send them my way! I didn't get a chance to take many, but this one by far is one of my favorites. We don't think there could be a more perfect setting to help people change their lives for the better, but we are partial! I hope everyone had a wonderful day at the ranch!
