We love & host all breeds but we do have a soft spot for "Bully Breeds" like Rotties, Pits and Dobies. They get such a bad rap and that prejudice will change the more we in the dog world continue to educated people about how wonderful they truly are. We live on 1.46 acres in a gated community that has ballfields, lakes, and lots of space to walk. Our block is off the main road on a cul-de-sac with
the ballfield steps away were we play fetch, walk around and sit relaxing as we listen to the birds and the breeze move the leaves on the trees. Rates:
$47 per overnight stay (24 hrs, drop off 8am) Late Fee: $9 hourly

Vaccinations must be current. We require written proof of vaccinations prior to your canine visit. Required vaccinations include DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella and Canine Influenza. Please discuss your pet's Bordetella vaccination schedule with your vet. Your pup(s) must be well socialized with other dogs and people. It's the best practice for their well-being. It is especially important for successful meet & greets. The best way to socialize is taking your pup(s) to the dog park so they can learn the skills they need to acclimate to other pup(s) while in a safe and contained area. This will help them immensely when being hosted. About this sitter:
Extreme dog lover. Soft spot for all creatures but my love for dogs wins hands down. Dogs have feelings and are smarter than we may think. For all the love that dogs give they should never suffer-- not even one day in their lives. We as owners have an obligation to give them the very best we can and take care of them until their dying day. I am Pro Adoption. My mind was changed when we adopted our two. Prior to my current two we picked up strays or bought. So many need to be rescued. We support the efforts of Mountain Rottie Rescue, Labs4Rescue, (L4R) AND ALL OTHER DOG RESCUES GROUPS. I am active on FB when helping to place dogs and have been successful with the help of groups we know. We have owned Rotties, Pits, German Shepards, Yellow Labradors, Shih Tzus, and mixed breeds of all kind. Our extended families have had Boxers, Yorkies, Shnoodles, Pugs, Malteses and many others who we interact with frequently. We make friends with all. There is something about dogs that steals my heart. Maybe its their innocence, their vulnerabilty, their trust, or loyalty despite how they've been treated, their forgiveness...maybe its all of it? I can't give enough to each of them to be sure they are happy, I try to think of everything they may need and provide for them. I try to tap into their souls so we connect on a much higher level. I do all I can to make it easy for them to tell me what they need or want to convey. I don't see them as dogs. I see them as children who have a hard time communicating. So its my job to tune into them. Dogs need to be respected, understood and taken care of. They didn't select their owners or living conditions. Because of that we all have a responsibility to keep them safe, raise them right and keep them with us until God decides its time for them to go to Heaven. If you can't do this for them then don't own one! How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs. I have been a dog lover my whole life. Between mine, my family's, my husband's and my husband's family we have had an abundance of dogs. My first dog was a male shepard named Sonny. He was the second dog in the entire United States diagnosed with a new diseased called heartworms. It was very traumatic when we had to put him to sleep. He was 7 years old. I was 10 years old. We've owned a turtle, a white rabbit, a cat and goldfish when I was much younger. Then we had 3 ponies and two shepard mixes. We owned a mastiff too. When I was 14 we owned our first Rottie. We also owned two Shih Tzus who mated and gave birth to only 2 puppies. At 23 I bought Sloan my Shih Tzu. Later, at 32 I bought two Yellow Labs, Bull and Bear. Six years after they passed away I adopted Apollo and Honae. All my dogs and animals had very good lives, the best medical attention, the best food, lots of love and were all socialized. They were members of my family. I can't bare to see an animal of any kind let alone dogs get hurt or deliberately abused by their owner or anyone else for that matter. We are all about providing a safe sanctuary for them to live without fear and to provide love whether they are ours or not. We are here to build trust and provide a wonderful experience so that they are eager to come back and stay again. I've worked with dogs who have growled, snapped, stood their ground, pulled on leash, are picky eaters, on special diets, who avoid taking their medication, who are afraid of thunder, who are lame, sickly (to a degree), seniors, pups and whatever else you can think of. What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences? I try to get as much important information I can so that I can take good care of them as their owner would:
Are they housebroken? What is their feeding/walking schedule? How do they get along with others? (Other dogs, children, etc.) Do they have special needs? (Music, nitelight, covered crate at night, etc. )
Any physical alements? (Weak heart, lamness, etc.) Are they taking medication? Who & Where is their vet? What's their routine? Do they fear anything? What are they allowed to and not to do? What aggitates them? What do they like? What commands or trigger words do they know? What do I have to be mindful off? Any issues or things that you need to let me know that I haven't touched on above? We host all breeds over 15lbs. "Bully Breeds" like Rotties, Pits and Dobies are our specialty. An ideal dog that would fit well in our household is one that is well socialized and used to staying over while you are away, interested in making friends with other dogs, is active, knows a few commands like sit and stay, come and walks on leash without too much difficulty. An ideal guest also would not have food aggression and acclimates to new surroundings. Housebroken is preferred however can make arrangements to make accidents less likely. Any age is fine, so long as they are ok with two more active dogs. We don't recommend very small dogs as I can not guarantee that they wouldn't get knocked over by the larger dogs when playing or preparing for walks. Your baby will be very well taken care of with us. We are extremely attentive, we supervise them all day long. We will be on the first floor with them the entire day. At night they will retire to our foyer with our dogs. If you would prefer to crate them at night the crate will be next to my dogs beds and I can even put a bedsheet over the crate to make them feel more cozy and secure. We are at the top of the staircase in our bedroom with the door open listen to everything until they finally settle in for the night. We are up bright and early every day at the same time ready to greet them with a smile in the morning. We follow a fairly scheduled routine and we pay attention to what they may be trying to express throughout the day ie I need to go for a walk before I have an accident, Im ready for bed, I want to be petted, etc. As for house rules:
Rule #1 Peeing and pooping must be done outside and not on the rug or furniture. Rule #2 If your Mommy doesn't allow it in your house, its not allowed here. Rule #3 Everyone must get along. No bullying allowed by anyone. Rule #4 Everyone must stick to their own bowl. Rule #5 When its bedtime, its bedtime--no if's, and's or but's. Rule #6 Do unto others as you would want to have done to you. Rule #7 Barking must be kept to a minimum for everyone's sake including the neighbors. Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency? Yes, we have an SUV, a brand new pickup truck and a newer four-door sedan. Are you comfortable administering medication? Yes, just let me know how you administer their medication and I will do the same. How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day? A LOT OF TIME! No guest pup(s) nor pups of mine go unsupervised. I want to know what they are doing all the time. This is to avoid them getting into some sort of trouble and to socialize and keep them entertained. There is nap time during the day where everyone rests in the family room after playtime. We are very involved with them during the entire day. We play fetch, wrestle, give tons of hugs and kisses, pet them, morning massages, keep them clean, and attempt to teach them a trick or two. If you have a backyard, please describe it. We have a huge back yard. The property itself is 1.46 acres. However, it is not fenced in. But we can provide a 30 foot leash that covers a lot of area and allows them to run around the front and back of house. The will have run of the first floor of our home which is over 1500 sq ft. Where will my dog sleep? We have a huge foyer where my pups sleep on their beds. It is at the foot of my staircase. It is approximately 15x15 sq ft. in size and can accomodate up to 5 giant dogs and their beds. At the top of the stairs is my bedroom and at night I keep my door open so I can hear everything going on at bedtime and Im a lite sleeper. Where will you take my dog on walks? Tell me about it. Your babies will be walked on your schedule. They will be walked around our block or around the perimeter of our community baseball field and with your permission we will go on short truck rides in our Designated Doggie Expedition or take a trip to the Doggie park if you like.
