I’d like to make a solo post for our new friend, Snoopy💞
I was contacted for a special request which is “hands off care” owners said that he was very special, little to no socialization other than family and needed him too learn how to be comfortable with others. At first, I thought he meant to socialize with more dogs but I misunderstood the day of drop off. What the owner meant was that he needed to socialize with more humans.
The first few hours I had with Snoopy were very challenging for me, I’ve gotten highly anxious pitbulls, labradoodles, chihuahuas etc. Although, I feel like I’ve never really been in a situation like this before.
Highly anxious, could not get near him without growling, and he had highly strong trust issues.
I can confidently say that after 6 hours of trying with cute remarks, treats, peanut butter, and toys.
Snoopy finally came out of his shell and let me be near him. I sat there almost all day and I feel very proud, and honored to be considered one of very few Snoopy’s close friends. Thank you to the owner for bringing me Snoopy, we look forward to more training later on!
