My name is Art Thomas and it took me 68 years to learn what I can share with you in 20 minutes. I started farming over 25 years ago with less than an acre and almost no guidance. The journey was far from easy—I faced many setbacks and moments where I nearly gave up. But through perseverance and faith, I learned that even a small piece of land holds limitless opportunities. I’ve also met many people with access to land and resources who never realized the potential right beneath their feet. Land is powerful—it offers more possibility than any classroom ever could.
Over the years, my work has been recognized across various platforms, and you can view some of those milestones on my social media. Your support means the world to me. My focus areas have been sustainability, agritourism, and disaster preparedness—all of which are key to creating strong, resilient farm operations.
My livestock is bees, earthworms, chicks and fish. I grow specialty and row crops, including moringa, turmeric, ginger, taro root, elderberry, goji berry, bitter leaf, banana, asparagus. Trees include plum, pear, olive, citrus.
Today, even if you think you're eating healthy, you're probably not, because you don't know who prepared it or from where it comes. There's a different attitude when you are confident in what you're consuming. Plus, land is getting harder to get and farming is becoming increasingly more complicated. I now offer consulting services for those ready to step into farming—whether you’re just starting, returning to the land after service, tending a backyard garden, or simply seeking a more sustainable way of life.
Farming isn’t just about growing food—it’s about feeding the world, strengthening communities, and preserving our environment. As I often say, “Agriculture is the backbone of every culture.” Sustainable practices are essential for ensuring a future where food is safe, secure, and accessible to all.
