During this Volunteer Appreciation Week, we're celebrating the incredible humans who make a world of difference to our shelter pups—our dedicated dog volunteers! 💛🐶

Rain or shine, heat or snow, they show up with leashes in hand and love in their hearts. These volunteers ensure every dog gets outside time to stretch their legs, sniff the fresh air, and feel like a dog again. More importantly, they give the one thing every animal needs most: love and attention.

While our staff works hard to care for every animal, it's our volunteers who fill in the gaps—offering snuggles, playtime, and comfort that truly change our dogs’ lives.

It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we want to give the biggest THANK YOU to the heart and soul of our shelter—our incredible volunteers!💜✨

Whether you're visiting for the first time or coming back to adopt a furry friend, chances are you’ve already met one of our amazing volunteers. You’ll know them by their purple uniform shirts and the warm smiles they always wear. They’re the ones walking dogs, cleaning kennels, cuddling kittens, comforting nervous animals, and making our shelter feel like home.🥹

✨Today is the day!✨ Fieldstone Animal Inn’s Open House starts at 11am and we are eager for our adoptable dogs to meet YOU!🐶

If you have been keeping an eye out for a small dog in need of a new family, you’re in luck, because adoptable Musca might be the perfect pup for you.💕 Though Musca is only around seven months old, she is just 12 pounds and will likely only gain a few more, if any, when she is fully grown.

Update: Adopted!

This little cutie has been in foster since coming into the shelter because she was incredibly scared in the kennel. Though many of our dogs are nervous coming into the shelter, few bounce back quite as quickly as miss Musca. Within just a day of being in foster, she has started to let her true personality shine by showing off some amazing zoomies and playing with the other dogs in the home.

Musca can still be nervous with loud noises but is proving to be such a resilient little girl. This baby is definitely ready to find her adoptive family, so come and meet Musca today! 🎉

Meet Focaccia 🍞 — a 3-year-old gentleman with a goofy streak and a heart of gold. He’s been waiting over 100 days for a home and has truly blossomed in his foster home. He’s house-trained, friendly with other dogs, and obsessed with nature walks and cuddle time. Adoptable Vienna wants to meet YOU this weekend at our adoption event with Fieldstone Animal Inn FieldStone Animal Inn!✨ After attending multiple events already and even wearing her cutest outfit, Vienna can’t understand why she still doesn’t have a family to call her own.

Vienna is four years old and has been with our shelter for 187 days, making her one of our longest dog residents. With her cute ears and goofy grin, we can't understand why this sweet baby has been with us for so long.

Vienna has been lucky to spend time in a foster home where they reported she has the best house manners. Vienna has a zest for life that is contagious and loves bringing smiles to everyone faces with her constant wiggles and love for playing. No matter if you've been gone for hours or are just waking up in the morning, Vienna greets everyone with the same enthusiasm and love that this sweet girl deserves.🥹

Don’t forget, today is the day of our adoption event with Spike’s K9 Fund at Old Line Crossfit Gym from 10am to 4pm! 🎉

Next in our line up of adoptable dogs attending is Vegas - a six year old Cane Corso who is attending and can’t wait to put her best paw forward when meeting all her potential new family members.🐾✨

Vegas decided candid photos would work best since this happy, fun-loving girl truly knows how to let her personality shine! Vegas has been in foster care since going through an eye surgery and has proved to be an incredibly affectionate and playful girl. She is potty trained, loves toys, and can never get enough of running around in the back yard. She knows sit and back up and has been learning “wait” during dinner time with some serious progress!🐕💕

Come Meet Fiona Tomorrow at Spike’s K9 Fund Event!🐶💕

Our shelter will be at Spike’s K9 Fund event tomorrow at Old Line Crossfit Gym from 10am to 4pm, and Fiona will be there, ready to steal your heart until 1pm!🐾

Fiona is a 6-year-old, spayed female who is the ultimate "wiggle butt"! She’s always wagging her tail and spreading joy wherever she goes.✨ Despite her rough start in life, Fiona has blossomed into a happy, healthy pup thanks to the love and care she’s received in her foster home. With her adorable ears and sweet, calm demeanor, Fiona will fit perfectly beside you on the couch or in the passenger seat of your car for all your adventures.

Fiona is great with everyone she meets and is sure to brighten up your day. She may be a bit shorter than your average dog, but she’s the perfect companion for any family looking for a loving, joyful pup.🐕

Have you been eyeing a pup in foster but weren’t sure how to meet them? Well, this Saturday is your chance!✨

We will be at the Spike’s K9 Fund event at Old Line Crossfit from 10am to 4pm with a ton of adoptable dogs ready to go home with you - including a lot of foster pups. Have you been looking for a pup that is good with kids? Get ready to have your heart stolen by foster pup Evie!🐶💕

Evie came into the shelter as a stray, very underweight and uncertain about the future. But right away, Evie impressed us by being the sweetest girl- always excited to meet anyone and everyone. Despite her rough start, Evie is constantly happy and charms everyone she meets. She has been in foster with another dog and a few kids and has done amazing. 😁

Evie would do great in a home that is busy and full of fun and laughs. She loves being part of the action and will be at the ready to romp and play or sit back and chill once it’s time to unwind. Do you think Evie is the right fit for your family? 🏠🐾

This Saturday our shelter will be attending the Spike’s K9 Fund - WODs for Working Dogs at Oldline Crossfit event with adoptable dogs ready to go home with their new families!💪🐾 This week we will be posting some of the amazing dogs attending the event so make sure to keep an eye out for a dog who might be the perfect fit for you and your family.🐶

Meet our first pup attending, ready and excited to meet you: 2 year old Beanie!✨

Beanie came into our shelter in very rough shape, clearly neglected and left to fend for herself all alone. Though she was a stray, Beanie had clearly found love somewhere because even on her toughest days, she never failed to greet everyone with a tail wag. ❤️‍🩹

Beanie had some serious muscle wasting on arrival which led to difficulty using her back legs and clear pain when trying to move around. But with the help of her foster family, Beanie is already becoming a regular pup- jumping up on furniture and running around during play time. Though Beanie will always be small because of her difficult start in life, she promises to be just like any other dog and provide her potential family with the love, affection, and endless puppy fun. 😆💕

We have two very special guests here at the shelter finally ready to find their adoptive homes!🐭💕

Bendigo and Horsham came into our shelter with a larger group of other rats and proved very quickly they were bonded and also overwhelmed by the big changes happening. Though all their siblings got adopted, due to being so frightened, Bendigo and Horsham found themselves all alone at the shelter.❤️‍🩹

Thanks to an amazing foster who stepped in, Bendigo and Horsham have spent the past month in a home where they have truly come out of their shells. Now, they are back at the shelter practicing their best hellos with staff and volunteers so they can make a great impression on new potential families.😁

If you are interested in meeting these handsome boys, you can stop by the shelter this weekend from 10am to 3pm and say hello!👋🐾 We are open Sunday as well and our fingers are crossed these gentlemen will be in a home by then.

Meet two very special residents we have currently in foster care - Kidz Bop and Kinetic Sand. Don’t let their adorable fluff fool you, these are two special babies who are looking for a unique home to call their own.🥹

Most of the animals who come into our shelter are strays and a good portion of the stray kittens we have coming in have never interacted with people or been in a home at all. These kittens are referred to as “under socialized” and require special attention and care to help build trusting and positive relationships with people.❤️‍🩹 For young kittens under two or three months of age, the process of socializing them can sometimes be quick and easy with some yummy food and the safety of a warm home. However, for older kittens, the process can be a lot more challenging.💪

Though most under socialized kittens go to foster, it truly takes a special hand to help older kittens understand that people are there to love and care for them. Kidz Bop and Kinetic Sand entered the shelter at around three months old and had clearly gone through a lot before arriving to us.💕🐾 They didn’t trust humans at all and were very wary of their foster home and experienced foster mom who took them in.

With a lot of patience and tons of treats and toys, Kinetic Sand and Kidz Bop are finally ready to go to adoptive homes.🎉 But their journey with socialization isn’t over just yet and they will need a family ready to help them continue learning just how great life in a home can be. They love playing with toys and the resident kitty in the home and have even provided some cuddles to their foster mom at a time of their choosing.

🐱❤️Is your home the right fit for them? We can help you figure that out! Kidz Bop and Kinetic Sand would do best going to homes separately and would benefit from the guidance of another, more social kitty in the home. They cannot go to a home with children and would prefer somewhere quiet and calm. We hope to get them in homes soon so they can start to create a bond with their new families so if you think they are the kitten for you, reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions and to get the adoption process started!
