These sweet babies came into our shelter a few weeks ago and needed some time with foster families before they were able to find homes, and tomorrow is that day! All six puppies will be attending our adoption event along with some amazing adult dogs to hopefully meet their new families🐶💕

All six pups have proven to be social butterflies and total cuddle bugs that win over the hearts of everyone they meet. Are you ready to meet the sweetest little pups? Whether you're looking for a playful companion or a cuddle buddy, these pups are ready to bring all the joy into your life.

🐶✨ Meet Your Future Best Friend This Saturday! ✨🐶

Join us at Homestead Gardens Severna Park this Saturday, March 1st, from 10 AM - 1 PM for a special adoption event! 🌿🐾

This is your chance to meet some of our wonderful foster dogs—amazing pups who aren’t routinely in the shelter but are thriving in foster homes. One of the best things about fostering is that we get to know these dogs’ personalities, quirks, and home habits so well, making it easier to match them with the perfect adoptive family.

🐕 Meet Three of Our Featured Foster Pups who will be attending:

📌 Vienna (4 years old, female) – The sweetest girl with a love for life and everyone she meets! Vienna greets her people with adorable wiggles and a huge smile—whether you’ve been gone for hours or are just waking up. She loves playing with toys of all shapes and sizes and will bring endless joy to her future home.

📌 Evie (10 months old, female) – This affectionate, intuitive sweetheart is an amazing houseguest and loves to play fetch. She’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and has a gentle soul that melts hearts. Of course, she still has some puppy energy, but with training, she will be absolutely perfect! Just look into those soulful eyes! 💖

📌 Tiny (8 years old, female) – This will be Tiny's second adoption event since she loves meeting new people so much! Tiny is affectionate, playful, and full of life. She may be 8, but she’s still got plenty of energy and adores her toys. She’s an easygoing, loving companion who will bring so much joy to her future family.

📣Update on the County's ongoing cyber incident:
Our shelter will be open to the public as usual the rest of the week with normal hours of operation. We are open for adoptions on a foster-to-adopt basis and hope you'll consider coming in to meet some of our amazing adoptable animals.

We will also be open as normal to help with stray pets and reclaims, though we are currently unable to renew or issue pet licenses. Our Animal Control officers will be available as usual to assist the public with domestic animal-related issues from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Call the shelter's dispatcher at 410-222-3939 for assistance.

At this time, we unfortunately do not have access to internet or our necessary systems to facilitate adoptions due to a county wide outage. We are still able to assist with all redemptions and licensing. The public is welcome to come view our galleries with adoptable animals, though we are currently unable to do any visitations or adoptions.

The county is aware that many public services are currently down and is actively working to restore access. We will continue to update you throughout the day if there are any changes. Thank you for your patience.

🎉Our shelter is OPEN tomorrow, Sunday the 16th from 10am to 3pm!🎉

Update: Both adopted!!

We have a serious case of puppy fever this weekend, with two adorable puppies here looking for a home. Halestorm and Falling in Reverse are our two youngest residents right now at only 9 weeks old and they are at the ready to go home with you!

Both these sweet babies are very social, playful, and love everyone they meet. Though they aren't exactly rockstars yet like their namesakes, they promise to entertain their new families with tons of silly antics. 🐶🎸

Adoptable-pup Simba spent this past weekend at our adoption event with the amazing Homestead Gardens Severna Park sporting his best hat and his most charming smile, but somehow he still didn’t have any luck finding his adoptive family! 🥹💕

This sweet boy has been in a foster home for the last two and a half months, and in that time, he's won over the hearts of his foster family and everyone he meets. He’s a total love bug — full of cuddles, tail wags, and all the good vibes. We honestly can’t understand why this lovable guy still doesn’t have his very own home.

We’re hopeful Simba’s perfect match is just around the corner. If you’re ready to make Simba part of your family (and enjoy lots of snuggles!), please reach out to us. Let’s make sure this guy finds his happily ever after soon!

The holidays are a time to celebrate with loved ones, but unfortunately, not all of our adoptable pets got to spend this time with a family. While we dream of the day when each of our animals finds their adoptive home, we’re grateful that bonded siblings Mooch and Minnie have each other and got to celebrate all their first holidays together! 🐱💕🐱

Though they’re still waiting for their human family, these two are in a foster home where they have had plenty of time to show off their personalities and make everyone who meets them fall in love. ❤️

Though this adorable duo love one another, they have no interest in living in a home with any doggie siblings so no pups in the home for them! Little Minnie and Mooch do have an eye condition that we have been treating here at the shelter, and we would be more than happy to answer your questions and let you know about future medical needs.

We are shaping up to have another very cold week here in Anne Arundel County and we wanted to remind everyone that animals who go outdoors need extra precautions to stay safe.📣

Any dogs outdoors must have the minimum protections required by law or allowing any pet to be tethered during severe weather may result in fines, impoundment, seizure of the pet, or criminal charges.

‼️Any citizen with concerns about an animal, please call 410-222-3939 or our after hours line at 410-222-8610. Our officers work hard to try and protect and care for all the pets in our county and we appreciate your understanding as we work to respond to all your calls and concerns.

Though we mostly get cats and dogs here at the shelter, every now and then, we get some exciting and unique guests – and these adorable rats are definitely some of our most fun arrivals! 😄

Today, we welcomed 27 incredibly friendly rats (one hairless lady) into our shelter, and they are already stealing hearts! 🐀💖 They are all super sweet, playful, and would love to find adoptive homes where they can continue to thrive.

Since rats are highly social animals, they must be adopted in pairs – they’re happiest when they have a buddy to snuggle with and explore the world together. 👫✨

If you’ve been thinking about adding some adorable, intelligent, and super interactive pets to your family, these rats might be the perfect match for you! We are happy to help answer questions you may have about rat care and hope to set you up for success once you bring them home. We are SO excited to introduce FIVE adorable puppies to our shelter family! These 4-month-old cuties are full of love, and they’re looking for their adoptive homes. 🏠❤️

Get ready for some serious puppy dog eyes 😍 — these little ones are experts at melting hearts with just one look. They’re super cuddly and have big personalities to match their growing size. 🐶

These pups are Cane Corso and Pitbull mixes and they are going to be BIG and strong. So, they need families ready for an energetic and loving companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate dog who will keep you on your toes and in your heart, these puppies might just be the perfect fit!

We are in search of more fosters who are able to take in dogs!🐶 Shelters can be overwhelming and stressful for many pups, but in a home environment, they can relax, gain confidence, and show us who they really are! 🏡✨

Adoptable Onyx's transformation is proof of how vital foster homes are for dogs in need. This sweet girl had completely shut down in the shelter, but thanks to her amazing foster family, Onyx is truly blossoming! 🌸 With the love and care of her foster parents and two lab siblings, Onyx is starting to show her true, playful personality.

We need more fosters to help dogs like Onyx thrive outside of the shelter. It's not just about giving them a temporary place to stay—it's about giving them the chance to grow, heal, and eventually find their adoptive homes. 🐕

Our doors open today at 10am and adoptable Shadow is counting down the minutes til he can meet a family to call his own!💕

Shadows favorite things include: napping, getting brushed, looking out the window, and getting some sweet face rubs. Shadows least favorite thing? The shelter. After coming in and spending some time in a kennel, Shadow became so stressed he started overgrooming, which led to painful bald spots in his fur. To help with his anxiety, Shadow has been moved to an office in the shelter and is already much happier. He doesn’t even mind sporting his very fashionable cone so he doesn’t bother his fur anymore!

Meet one of the pups who will be ready to meet you tomorrow - adoptable Ice!🐕 We often hear people say, “I didn’t know shelters had purebred dogs!” While it’s true that many of our furry friends are amazing mixed breeds, shelters like ours also see a lot of purebred dogs like Ice. If you’re patient and keep an eye out, you can find any breed you dream of rescuing—and trust us, rescue love is the best kind of love! 🐾

Ice is an 8-month-old Samoyed who’s ready to find his adoptive home! With his snow-white coat, big smile, and playful energy, Ice is a true heart stealer. He’s looking for a family who loves adventure, long walks, and plenty of cuddles. If you have experience with Samoyeds and have been looking to expand the family, maybe Ice is the perfect pup for you?

The recent snowfall has brought out the best in our adoptable pets and reminded us how special every day can be when you’re spending it with a dog! ❄️ Our pups are having the time of their lives in the snow - from silly zoomies to playing with their favorite toys, there's no shortage of smiles here!

Adoptable Focaccia, one of our sweet and playful young pups here, has been having a blast in the winter wonderland! 🌨️🐕 With his joyful spirit and love for adventure, Focaccia is ready to find a family he can call his own. Could it be with you?

Focaccia is around 3 years old and just under fifty pounds. When we asked him what kind of family he is looking for, he said he wants a family who loves outdoor adventures, has lots of toys, and will have a nice warm home for him to relax in once he’s all tuckered out. 💕
