Today’s story is about our boy St. Nick. 🎅🏻

We received a call from a friend of our Village back at the beginning of November. Her sister lived back in the woods in Millville and had a super friendly cat hanging around for quite a while.

We went over to check it out and found St. Nick right away. We didn’t have space to take him at that time but told them we would be back for him. The next week we had an unexpected appointment for him. Our friend Paola went to get him and he almost jumped right in her car.

All proper protocol was followed for a found cat but no one came for him. 😢

Our friend Ellen saw his picture posted in our group and offered to foster him. It only took a couple of days and she knew ‘Nicky’ had found his new home.🏠 🥺

Look at him living his best life.

Another fun fact - Ellen adopted another Village cat of ours several years ago from Petsmart. Ellen has volunteered at SJRAS’ Petsmart location in Millville for years and chose our girl to be hers.🥰

Ellen has been an amazing asset to our Village by fostering for us. Just recently she fostered Daphne, Petunia, Autumn and Amber. She has fostered Eagle and so many more that I can’t remember off of the top of my head.

Happy life Nicky. Thank you Ellen for all that you do for us.

Thank you Jim Mihlebach for making our cat shelters for us and Lisa Puzzutiello for making more. Thank you to whoever sent insulation and duct tape through Amazon (there was no name included).

We are trying to get as many as we can out to our feeders before the snow on Sunday. If you are in need of one, please reach out to get the pick up location (Cumberland County, NJ). We just ask for a donation of about $20 to keep making more.

We have some feeders struggling from time to time to adequately feed their colonies. We would like to stock up on some bags of food for when community cat feeders need our help.

If you would like to send some food our way for the community cats of South Jersey, please click the link below and it will come directly to us.

When someone reaches out for help, we can immediately get food to their colony.

Give your cat a reason for happy meows when you add Purina Friskies Tender and Crunchy Combo dry adult cat food to her daily feeding regimen. Meaty tenders and crunchy bits give her more to love in every bite, and the pleasing shapes get her excited to nibble her way to bliss-filled satiety. This...

Our first story of the year of a cat that we have helped is Stephanie Wilson’s Dutch. It took her over a year to trap him.

She thought he had an injured leg. He was checked out and everything was found to be ok. He got some antibiotics and was released back out. She finally got him in July of this year.🎉

He hangs out at Stephanie’s, is safe, doesn’t wander or fight to mate and is loved.🥰

We are glad that we could be a part of Dutch’s story and had the tools to help Stephanie get him fixed.

We have slacked with our thank you posts recently and are doing our best to make sure we show our appreciation to our donors in 2025.

Our first thank you goes to Richard Ketz for his monetary donation and all he does for our tiny fosters that he takes in under Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue.

Thank you to Bruce Compton and MaryAnne Hines for your donation to our Village. We appreciate the support you show our Village.

Thank you to Gaudelli Brothers for their donation. We assisted a property for them and they followed that up with a donation that will help so many cats.

Donations like these assure that our Village will continue to help the community cats of South Jersey.

If you would like to donate to our TNVR mission, please click our PayPal link below. Each surgery at People for Animals in Millville is $115. We do get cheaper appointments at times but are in need of transporters to and from Trainer, PA.

We’ve decided to post some fun facts about our Village and retell some old stories to share with our new followers this month.

This number, 3,812 is how many cats have been spayed/neutered through our Village since we formed in 2022.

We trapped about 1,200 cats through South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter from September 2020-April 2022 bringing the total number of owned and community cats to around 5,000 in the last 4 1/2 years.

We are so proud of that number and the suffering that we have ended. While we haven’t seen a reduction in the number of kittens brought in to SJRAS, we think we have brought awareness to people to help cats and kittens they find outside.

Before Facebook, people would see cats in need of help and keep going. Now, people take a picture and post it for someone else to go help. The amount of cats needing help is greater than the rescues and volunteers can keep up with. 😩. So in 2025, we will continue to do our best when asked to help.

If you see any injured animal, please call your local animal control.

If you find a friendly cat, please get it to SJRAS to have it scanned for a chip.

If you feed community cats in your yard and you will continue to feed them, please fill out our form to get on our waitlist.
