Just little Cub here asking everyone to be respectful when you have our personal phone numbers and not to just share it randomly. Usually if you ask, we will gladly share it.

We get tons of messages and request every day and try to steer everybody towards our Google form so no one gets lost between texts, emails, messenger , etc. It can be extremely overwhelming.😩

Also, we do this out of our homes. We are not a business so please refrain from stopping in to request TNVR services if we haven’t already spoken to you.

We work full-time and have families. We are 100% volunteer run and function 100% on donations from the public.

If you or a friend are in need of TNVR help, please have them fill out the form below.

We are not Animal Control and we are not a rescue. We do try to help with kittens and friendlies but that depends on our resources of time and donations.

We are celebrating spaying our 1200th cat of 2024 today! Coco is from a local property and is getting spayed along with her 2 siblings today. They all have a feeder who loves them and provides for them.💗

We are 100% volunteer run and 100% of our funding comes from donations from the public.

Every cat that is spayed or neutered is on average $45. Many cats get extras such as antibiotics, eye meds, flea/tick meds or need more care such as cryptorchid or dentals.

Help us keep doing what we do by donating below.

For those of you following along on the journey of the farm kittens, yesterday was a great day!

Six of our babies went to rescue!🎉🎉🎉Flamingo, Giraffe, Swan, Hippo, Rhino and Alligator went to A Future for Ferals.

Exactly 2 months ago, we walked into a terrible situation at a local farm. We went to TNVR but found a lot of kittens in really bad shape.

We did our best to help them. Many did not survive. 😢. But they knew love, comfort and warmth.💔. We have spayed/neutered over 30 cats on this property. We had 2 moms deliver 13 cats in traps waiting for their spay. All of those kittens have passed away.

Out of the 41 kittens from this property, 18 have survived. Getting these kittens to this point was not an easy undertaking. It took 4 different foster homes and lots of donations and around the clock care. We could not have done this without our Village who stepped up to teach us how to help the ones in the worst shape to survive. Flamingo was from the original first group and was one of the ones in the worst shape. Some needed fluids, antibiotics and every kind of wormer that we had. And lots of flea and tick meds to get rid of the pesky lice.😩

Thank you to Lydia and Rayelle who took over their care in the first couple of days.

Thank you Roberta and Rayelle for fostering Swan and Donna Shafer for sponsoring her spay.

Thank you Rayelle for fostering Flamingo and Cape Atlantic Cats for sponsoring her.

Thank you to Sally for fostering Giraffe and Janis Duffy and Koedi Shakir for sponsoring him.

Thank you Rayelle for fostering Hippo and Jennifer Osborne for sponsoring her.

Thank you Krista Massey for fostering Rhino and Alligator and to Kathy Daws-Lawrence for sponsoring Rhino and Janet Schmidt and Barbara Mihlebach-Moore for sponsoring Alligator.

A huge thank you to Dr. Smiley and Aysha at the Animal Clinic of Millville for giving Laurel the royal treatment. She has a slight URI and coccidia, so her and Kermit will be treated.

We appreciate the amazing care and treatment that our Village kitties get from EVERYONE at the Animal Clinic of Millville. You guys are the best!

Foster mom Michele noticed right away that Laurel wasn’t feeling well and we got her seen right away.

Let’s talk about adoption fees. Love them? Hate them? Read on!

If you’re a cat person, your social media feed is filled with adorable cats and kittens needing homes. You may think, “If so many cats need homes, why not give them away for free or nearly-free?”

While government-subsidized shelters and larger, well-funded rescues may offer lower adoption fees or even short periods of waived fees, most small rescues are run strictly by volunteers and receive no government funding. Kizzy’s Place relies on individual donors and our adoption fees to fund our efforts.

Kizzy’s is an all-volunteer organization, from our founders and Board to our fosters and the dedicated people who tend to the cats at our in-store adoption centers (and even our social media mavens). All donations and adoption fees go toward caring for cats. This includes exams, neuter/spay, deworming, flea treatment, testing, vaccines, and in some cases, medical treatment from diagnostic imaging to procedures, medication and follow-up visits. Then, of course, we provide cat food, litter and toys to the cats in our care.

When you pay the adoption fee, you’re investing not only in your new family member, but in the continuing mission of our rescue. That makes you part of the Kizzy’s family!

We have had appointments Monday-Friday for the last 2 weeks. 🥵. Below are some of the 55 cats that we took for surgery this week. At an average for $45 for each cat, this week was over $2,500. Most properties are able to pay but some are not.

We also got several kittens rescue ready with rabies shots, check ups and health certificates that was over $300. We also buy supplies like wormer and flea/tick meds to keep on hand to help all of the cats that come into our care.

WISHLIST WEDNESDAY:

Fancy Feast kitten pate and more kitten pate 😅

Village Trappers has over 25 kittens in our care in foster homes. Our fosters do so much already so we like to keep them stocked up on food. We are running dangerously low on Fancy Feast kitten pate.

Most of SJRAS fosters buy their own food also because the shelter just doesn’t have enough for over 600 cats.

Most of our rescue partners are always running low on kitten food this time of year.

Please consider donating to our Village, SJRAS or any one of our rescue partners. If you send food to us, we will distribute it to our Village and send extra to SJRAS and with some of our kittens that go to rescue.🥰

Popsicle and Eclair are 2 new kittens that we just trapped who will benefit from some good nutrition. They were infested with fleas and have URI.

If you would like to donate to our TNVR, please click on our PayPal link below.

08/21/2024

We’ve been putting off a Springbok update for about a week while we process what happened.

Krista and Allison grabbed him from the farm property on 7/16. He was at our HQ for a couple of days and then went to foster with Roberta. She noticed right away that he had Pectus Excavatum.

We immediately reached out to Debbie at Angel Wings Kitty Sanctuary who agreed to pull him to get him the care he needed.

Springbok was seen by a vet and surgery was scheduled for last Tuesday. It is fixable, but there is a surgical risk of piercing the heart with the needle since the heart is so close to the sternum.

On Tuesday we got this message from Debbie:

I just got a call from my vet. Springbok came through the surgery well but unfortunately, he stopped breathing after surgery. My vet thinks it is a reperfusion injury where the lungs were damaged. She has him on a machine and breathing for him, but his pupils are fixed and not responding to light. They have done everything they could to resuscitate him. She is going to take him off the oxygen to see if per chance he breathes on his own, but it does not look good.

A short time later, we got the message that Springbok passed away.😢

We know he had the best care. We are so appreciative to Debbie, the vet, everyone who donated towards his care, Krista, Allison and Roberta.

For every cat in our care, it takes our entire Village to save them. While this is not the outcome we were expecting, we are comforted knowing he is not suffering anymore.

RIP little man.😢

08/20/2024

Back at the beginning of July, we had trapped Doodle at a local property. She started to deliver kittens while she was in our care. She delivered one kitten in her trap and we moved her over to a big cage. Several hours later, she delivered two more kittens.

Even though Doodle was extremely feral, she did a great job, raising her babies at our HQ. Her baby started eating on their own, Doodle was spayed and returned to her feeder.

Her three babies, Sketch, Scribble and Squiggles went to an amazing foster home with Denise Lairson. They got the love and care they deserved. They were beyond spoiled with Denise.

Once they were a pound and able to get a distemper shot, they went to Rich with Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue. Rich has fostered for us before several times. The last four kittens that he took were also born at our HQ. All have found amazing homes (one has been adopted by Rich 🥺). They are super spoiled with Rich also. Rich has a system to naming everyone and these guys are now Hansel, Gretel and Geena.

Thank you Purrfect Angels for taking them. The agreement with them is that they be spayed and neutered by us when they kittens are 3 pounds. We need sponsors for the 3 kittens of $75 each. They will most likely have surgery in October.

But the one person who needs the most thanks is our ride or die supporter Dale Mihlebach. She volunteers and supports many local rescues but Dale advocated for us with Purrfect Angels a while ago and they have taken dozens of cats from us since then including Heather and Voilet, the D litter, and so many more. Dale doesn’t do this for a thank you. She is so valuable to our Village and we appreciate everything she does for us.

We couldn’t be more appreciative to everyone involved who helped these 3 precious babies to their next step.

If you would like to sponsor any of the 3 kittens, please click our PayPal link below.

We are so behind on thank you posts.🫣. But TNVR and saving kittens is a 24/7 job. We could not do this without our supporters.

Thank you to Heather Kinney, The Sjogren Family, Donna Shafer and Rebecca Quinn for their generous donations this week. This makes it so we never have to say no to a cat in need.

Thank you to Kristina Swan-Smith who sponsored Sage last week and Elizabeth Robbins who sponsored 4 of the tabby kittens to get them rescue ready.

Thank you to an anonymous donor who sent some Tiki Cat baby and to Jennifer Duffy and Birdie who donated Kitten Lite, Capstar, Wormer and Terramycin to our kitties in need.

Letting your unneutered female out, is subjecting her to this.
Taking refuge up a tree while 4 males wait to subject her to a horrible ordeal - she will try her hardest to get away - she will be chased and cornered until they manage to grab her - she will fight her attackers and suffer bites, cuts and bruises but won't win.
The noise of the attack will be ear splitting .... But yes, of course you love your cat.

She will then be pregnant, probably give birth in someone's garden or shed - not knowing when she will get food - some of the babies may die, but then so may your girl if she has a difficult birth (then any healthy babies will also starve to death).

But of course you love your unneutered girl, as you let her outside yet again !!

Please get your cats spayed / neutered!

We skipped over celebrating cat #1100 last week because we were so busy.🥺. It was Kelly/Kermit who went to foster rescue with Michele Gambone at The Unforgotten Haven.

We had spay/neuter appointments Monday through Friday last week. We took and filled every appointment available to us. But we still have a long waitlist and dozens of people on a standby list if any appointments open up.

We are working as fast as we can to do our part in getting the cat overpopulation issue under control and help ease the overcrowding of local shelters.

We can always use more donors, transporters, and volunteers. We always have traps, litter boxes and bowls to be cleaned. Please let us know if you can help with these tasks.
