He’s back
He’s home
He’s safe
He’s with his family
When I say I BROKE DOWN when Joe showed up with him
Literally he just walked up the stairs where we are staying with Dodger in his arms. I just grabbed Dodger and cried and cried and cried.
Joe has been going to the park at least once a day looking for Dodger
Today, he found him 🤍🖤
He was 1 trailer away from the old place going towards home and he came up to Joe
He’s skinny and dirty but he’s WITH US
I’m so thankful
Joe is a hero through and through
Thank you ALL for sharing, looking and praying for his safe return
Dodger is back with us after over 2 weeks
He’s purring and happy. My heart 💗
Editing to add because I believe a lot of people see this post but don’t realize what actually happened to Dodger:
We were the victims of a house fire on January 8th.
Dodger was missing for two weeks and two days after the fire.
We looked daily, often multiple times a day, as well as many other people looking for him and no one could find him.
He was not let outside or escaped or anything like that.
He was actually caught in a house fire, somehow escaped and then had to survive on his own for two weeks.
Our cats are 100% indoor cats unless they’re being supervised outside on a harness.
We’re already talking about making up signs for the new rental about warning people to leave the doors closed. At our old house the cats wouldn’t try to get outside, but if they did, it didn’t really matter because it was a quiet neighborhood. Here there’s a very busy road that people fly down so we’re not taking any chances.
I gave him half a small can of wet food mixed with warm water once he got here to rehydrate him and warm him up. I’ve worked in rescue for many years and we’re well aware of refeeding syndrome 🩷
Someone send help….
I think NightTime is going stir crazy 🤪
I can’t wait until these guys have a whole house to run around and aren’t stuck in 1 room 🖤

Placement found 🩵
Hey guys. I know that we had a lot of possible interest in people fostering our bunnies. I had a lot of maybes and hopefuls, but I think we found the perfect foster situation for now.
These guys are gonna be set up in an x pen in someone’s garage for the time being. They will be going to their foster home tomorrow. This family has already met my rabbits in the past and those are individual stories and personalities, so I think it’s a great fit.
Thank you so much to everyone that has offered and tried to find solutions.
I know how difficult it is to find placement for four large rabbits in a group and y’all have been amazing trying to help us with that. These boys are so special and it’ll be impossible to separate them and then try to re-introduce them later. So them all staying together in a big protected area is absolutely the best I could’ve hoped for in this situation.
These were the last animals needing foster placements for the time being. Two cats, the two dogs and Pongo the parrot are staying with us for now.
If that changes, I will let you guys know. Thank you so much.
Today I’m sorting through the clothing donations and organizing them. I have to go to the trailer to take videos and pictures for insurance purposes before the clean out tomorrow.
We have someone willing to store our freezer food so that won’t go to waste.
I have two trash bags of clothes that were too small for Joe and I. I guess we’ve both put on quite a bit of weight these last six months 😅
I was thinking about donating them to Trinity First Hope Center, but if anyone knows somewhere local that gives away clothes for free, I’d happily give them to them too. I don’t want to donate to somewhere that will resell them. I wanna make sure these items go to people that need them.
The generosity and support that you guys have given me and Joe has touched us in ways y’all can’t imagine. We can’t really sleep more than a couple minute
Hi guys
We have, what I believe to be the last of our Critters needing Foster placement going today and tomorrow 🤞🏻
Joe and I have a roof over our heads.
For the time being the two cats and our two dogs, and Pongo, the one eyed parrot are staying with us.
I have not been back to the trailer yet. Joe went a couple times, still no sign of Dodger our missing cat. He’s gonna be fine right? He has to be. I can’t lose anymore of my babies.
So many people came yesterday with things. I’m just floored at the outpouring of love and support. I have to go through everything and organize it to see what we have, what we still need. Of course we need pretty much everything, but we can only store so much where we are right now so we have to be careful with what we bring in.
Today and tomorrow I’m worrying about getting the last few animals in placement, trying to salvage some animal food out of my one shed that didn’t catch fire, and organizing the donated items that were given to us.
Sunday and Monday when the weather clears a little bit, we will be focusing on clearing out the trailer and moving items into a storage unit. If anyone knows the cheapest storage place in Millville/Vineland area, please let me know.
If anyone would like to join us to help clear out the trailer on Sunday or Monday, please check out my previous post about the event I made for it. If anyone local has masks that we can use, or gloves that we can use, please let me know.
We managed to get a couple bites of food last night and this morning.
We were both able to clean up and get into clean clothes and sleep on clean bedding. I was able to brush my teeth. It was such a help. Though we didn’t really sleep, it was nice to be clean and somewhat comfortable for the night.
Our traumatized cat Crystal came out and slept with us and the dogs last night. She’s been hiding since the fire so that made me feel so much better. I just keep telling myself that even though there’s so much le
This has received quite a bit of love on my personal page so I figured I’d share here too!
A hobby I’ve been working on for the past 6 months or so.
Mostly I’ve only done smaller specimens like insects and mice.
This is my largest one to date and I love it!
The snake was given to me on death’s door, and we tried everything to try to save him, but he was already too far gone.
Now he gets to be loved forever ❣️

Most of the ones I’ve been making have ended to at The Spot but this one already has a home lined up 💙
It’s so sad to loose an animal, but I find solace in giving them a “second life” where they will be appreciated, when oftentimes they weren’t in their first 💝
Some more goodies are going to The Spot today!
4 more specimens and 4 more mysteries bags
2 of the bags are non-animal related - mostly some really awesome stickers, crock jibbitz and jewelry.
2 wet specimens (a pair of mice and a large hissing cockroach)
and 2 dehydrated ones (European starling feet)
I’m not sure what time I’m going today, but they will be there for anyone to go check out tomorrow.
Yesterday was an amazing class!
It started off with a host that knew exactly what they wanted from the start, was very good at communicating and had the space ready for us on arrival 🩷
All 15 critters, the game table and party favors were all a hit with the kids and adults.
The sweetest, most respectful kidlets I’ve had in a while, and attentive adults that also really enjoyed interacting with the animals.
I absolutely love all my clients but some just go above and beyond to be amazing hosts! 💝
A little throwback from May 2017 when I gently tripped and did a “partial amputation” of my finger on a carrier 😂
Really it was just a little over half a finger nail and a big chunk of meat but the ER listed it as a partial amputation 🤷♀️
I also messed up 2 other fingers on that hand pretty bad, but the ring finger was definitely the worst.
Anywho, I’m still super proud of myself for not dropping the critters ❣️
I even got everyone put back in their home enclosures before driving myself to the ER 💪
The critters always come first 💕
Today was really sweet at Unexpected Farm.
People came to cuddle with the alpacas and bunnies.
Guests hung out by the bonfire and talked.
It was such a nice little break from the holiday craziness. The little flurries were a pleasant touch.
We will be there again tomorrow!
💚❤️💚
Crystal is one of our 3 rescue kitties.
All 3 of our cats were found dumped outside. We got them vetted but were unable to find them safe placement so they became our family members.
1 of our dogs was also dumped, the other was surrendered to a groomer and they couldn’t find her a home so we stepped in.
Just a reminder that our programs help care for all of our animals, not just the ones you see at programs 🤍🩶🖤
I can’t wait until we move into a home where the landlord accepts our critters again.
It’s been a rough year knowing the current landlord wants us to rehome our family ❤️🩹
An absolutely HUGE shoutout to the Millville Public Library
They have the nicest staff ever 💙
Today was my first time doing both touch table stuff and info sheets at the same time.
What do you think?
Too cluttered or yay for all the info?
