Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter applied for and was awarded a Petco Love Grant 2 years ago and continues to provide free vaccines to pet owners and has had the opportunity more than 200 vaccines just this year.
The Vaccinated and Loved campaign, launched in August 2021, encourages Petco Love animal welfare partners to host clinics and have vaccines accessible to the general public, particularly
targeting high-impact areas where pet owners may not have access to available vaccines due to costs associated. We offer parvovirus and distemper vaccine for dogs, and HCP for cats.
The shelter has implemented the no cost vaccinations into the shelter for the animals in shelter and offering to the community. During the past year we have set up at the Honda for Hounds event, other events, and do plan to participate in other community events in the upcoming months.
βSince I became the GDCAS Shelter Director I have worked to get rid of the thought of it being just a pound. I want the shelter to be a resource to the community and to help prevent intakes. As Director I continue to seek out new grants and opportunities and develop internal policies that move our shelter forward.β stated Minde Myers, GDCAS Director.
It is through partnerships just like this one with Petco Love that we can provide additional services to the community.
Pet owners in need of free pet vaccinations can visit GDCAS Business Hours and are not required to be Decatur County residents.

We do ask that if you come for vaccinations to please keep your cat and/or dogs in your vehicle until you have checked in with the office staff to let them know you are here. This is to prevent any interactions with other dogs to ensure safety of everyone.
