We saw this Halloween decoration. The dogs didn’t really notice it until I approached it like I was greeting a dog. Blue and Wilbur were cautious. Wilbur started growling at it. I told Ted to say hi. He didn’t fall for it. He went and peed on the plant in front of it.

Hanson Police is proud to welcome our newest member. Lucy is a 6 month old English Cream Golden Retriever. Lucy comes to us from Golden Opportunities for Independence in Walpole. Lucy will be used in town as a Community Resource Dog (CRD), also known as a Comfort Dog. Lucy is assigned with School Resource Officer Derek Harrington. Both Officers have been in training together focusing on de-escalation of stressful situations and Search & Rescue.

The Community Resource Dog program has been funded by a generous grant from the Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz as well as multiple private donors.

Lucy has been visiting the town offices, schools, and businesses introducing herself. She is extremely excited to begin the school year and meet all her new friends.
