Client Spotlight: Meet Marvin! 🙌

Marvin brings a sharp sense of humor and a dependable spirit to everything he does. From lending a hand on the job to making everyone laugh, he's the kind of person you can always count on.

With a wide range of work skills and a love for a good game of Bingo, Marvin proves that dedication and joy go hand in hand.

We're grateful to have Marvin as part of our IKE Center family. He's a reminder that showing up—with heart and humor—is what Love Works is all about. 💙

Love changes everything. 💙

At the IKE Center, we believe that purpose, pride, and meaningful work create more than opportunity—they create community.

Since 1984, we've helped adults with disabilities grow, connect, and thrive in spaces built on love, respect, and the dignity of a job well done.

This is what Love Works looks like—in Milwaukee, and beyond.

Client Spotlight: Meet Marie! 💙

Marie lights up the IKE Center with her incredible sports knowledge—she's a walking sports encyclopedia and always ready to share the latest stats! 🏈⚾️🏀

She's also the first to welcome new clients with a big smile and friendly intro, making everyone feel at home.

When she's not talking sports, you'll find her playing Bingo with friends—where she brings just as much energy and joy to the game!

We're so lucky to have you, Marie. This is what Love Works looks like. 💛

More than 12% of US adults face serious difficulty walking or climbing stairs, making mobility disabilities one of the most common in the country 🪜

From arthritis and multiple sclerosis to neurological conditions like cerebral palsy, these challenges affect daily life, employment, and accessibility.

Inclusive policies, workplace accommodations, and assistive technologies can make a difference 💯

Let's create a world where mobility barriers don't limit opportunity!

Not everyone who uses a wheelchair can't walk ♿

Many can, just not all the time.

These individuals are called ambulatory wheelchair users 💡

They might walk short distances but use a wheelchair to prevent pain, manage fatigue, or stay safe.

It's not about ability–– it's about access, comfort, and control 🙌🏻

Mobility isn't black and white, and understanding that is key to real inclusion.

Let's challenge assumptions together! ☝🏻

Respect starts with seeing people as people—and honoring their choices.

At the IKE Center, we don't speak on behalf of the disability community. We listen. We support. We create real opportunities for people to choose where they want to live, work, and belong—even if that means working in a space designed with their needs in mind.

It's about freedom, pride, and the right to build a life that feels meaningful.

What's one way you can help ensure everyone has the freedom to choose where they live, work, and play? 🤔

At the IKE Center, we believe love means creating spaces where people are seen for their strengths, respected for their choices, and supported in building meaningful lives.

It's not about fitting in—it's about showing up, lifting each other up, and honoring every person's path.

🌟 Meet Karen — the kind of person who lights up every room she walks into. With a heart full of determination and a smile that never quits, she gets things done no matter what. Last year, Karen was honored with the Ike Center's very first Persistence Award — and we couldn't think of anyone more deserving. 💪💛

Because at Ike, Love Works — and so does Karen.

We're so close to the finish line! 🎉

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we've raised $1,935,567 toward our $2 million goal — with just $64,433 left to go.

Every dollar helps us provide training, purpose, and meaningful employment to adults with disabilities. Let's cross this milestone together 💙

Over a billion people around the world live with disabilities, yet many are still shut out of meaningful work 📉

Why? Not because of ability, but because of assumptions.

In her powerful TED Talk, Tiffany Yu shares what workplaces can do right now to welcome, support, and empower employees with disabilities 🙌🏻

From inclusive design to flexible culture, it's time to do better. If your organization wants to be part of that change — and start including brilliant, capable individuals like our clients at the IKE Center — we'd love to talk.
