Hi everybody, its Indie.
I just read something … what?, you didn’t know dogs could read? There is much you don’t know about the wisdom of the K-9 nation.
Anyway, this is what I read ~ “Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in”
So I started to think about reasons I would sneak open a door for you to join all the dogs frolicking around up there in heaven.
First, you guys do your absolute best to see that we are given proper foodstuffs & kept safe. That is HUGE!
I for one really enjoy my nice warm bed, my toys, our couch & Mom & Dads lap. Talk about comfy! You guys, & by that I mean all you K-9 loving sweet people getting my sometimes silly missives, deserve all the attention dogs afford you.
Just yesterday I was listening to the old gray haired dude who walks me ~ thats right, I listen to him. We dogs swim through a sea of human speak. We listen attentively & understand way, way more than you realize.
Anyway, he says, "Indie, you're so pretty." Well, DUH. Like I never heard that before. But you know what? He means well. You all do. And because I have grown very fond of you humans, especially when you show kindness to pets, I "got your back."
So when you need me to put in a good word for you, just cue up this video.
My human used to have a rubber golf ball to hit & I loved chasing it. Sometimes my excitement got the better of me. This might have been one of those times.
I found my long lost bother Mickey. Turns out he wasn't lost at all. He is at the lake house with his humans right where I last saw him.
I sure miss seeing his handsome face. He looks a whole bunch the same as me! Really! I look at him & it's almost like when I look in a mirror.
So, am I "pretty handsome?"
I guess so. Anyway, it was sure fun seeing you Mickster! I'll have my people contact your people - lets do lunch - OK?
A dog with integrity. That's me, Indie.
See, Charlie got his right rear paw stuck in his lead while we were wrestling. I would have been at an advantage because of his possibly getting all tangled up. Did I use it in my favor?
Nope. I waited until Mom freed his paw before we resumed our match.
BTW - I won.
Finally! We went swimming today. This was my first dive of the summer.
What the heck were we waiting for?
This is me, Indie “strutting the runway.”
Oh man, I thought football season was over! Out of nowhere I come across this ball and Mom decided it was time to play.
What FUN!
Hey Mom, check it out, Lake Michigan is percolating just like when you make coffee!
Sure it's cold out, but doesn't the snow just seem to put a SPRING in your step?
This video of Mickey, me & our little friend is a perfect example of how to get along. Let me explain:
The three of us are playing around when "Jack Russell" gets angry. A little snarling goes on but we get passed it quickly. We resume playing only until "Jack" becomes upset once again. This time nipping accompanied by teeth- bearing occurs.
Then we see "big brother" Mickey come to his little sisters defense. "You mess with my sister, you're gonna have to deal with me."
Mickey was saying, STOP THE FIGHTING RIGHT NOW!
So we did and had a great time.
I swam out to retrieve the frisbee, my nose just above the surface, and paws doing the "dog paddle."
Had I ever felt better?
See, swimming is just running in the water, so if you're a good runner, you're a good swimmer. I swam & swam, my legs really getting into it, churning through the water so fast that --
"Indie, bad dream kiddo?"
I opened my eyes, kept swimming for a second - and there was my human looking at me with amusement.
Aw man, I can't wait until swimming season again. I guess I'll just have my dreams for now.
Every once in a while you just gotta show the youngster who's the boss!
The humans took me along for a walk around Lake Geneva. It is really cool as you walk on the lake shore which is the back yard of some stately homes.
Anyway, everything was fine until this sort of turtle monster came after me.
I showed it who's boss!
Once every year we see this dinosaur. I can't figure out just what in tarnation it is.
So I bark my fool head off.
It's their birthday. Yep, all my brothers & sister are 9 today. There were only us two girls but we had many good times with the boys.
This must have been suppertime.
Happy birthday to us!
If you watch closely you can see I hit the water before the frisbee did.
