Wax potting process consists of excellent quality beeswax and paraffin wax. The viscosity of wax ensures it completely penetrates the coil to eliminate microphonics.

Doing a rewind for a customer on a pickup. The coil had some damage and a pole piece was actually broken. Installed new hand beveled Alnico II pole piece, rewound with same wire type, wax potted and tested.

White Oak Guitars has not had to increase prices on any of our models since our inception. In fact, through constant part sourcing and quantities, I am happy to announce a bit of a price decrease on many of our models! We have always used the best quality materials available and continue to do so. I would rather pass along savings to musicians and get more White Oak pickups under your strings, than make a little extra. We are also beginning to stock a limited amount of our models. Killer Metal or Hard Rock doesn’t necessarily need to come from a ceramic magnet based Bucker. This set screams and is Alnico 5 with Plain Enamel 42 gauge windings. These are actually wound somewhat similar in strength to a PAF to retain as much dynamic response.

5 String Jazz Bass Pickups - building up the coil bobbins with Alnico 5 hand beveled pole piece magnets. Next step is winding the coils then wax potting.

You may be surprised how lower wound pickups can scream, growl, and purr! In addition to beautiful, rich cleans and tons of dynamics, slightly lower wound pups handle pedals really well.
