Marshall and Mando headed home yesterday 🦮🐕
Both of these boys completed my Board and Train program! They each knew some basic commands before coming to me, so we were able to jump right in to some more advanced obedience skills. Marshall and Mando both headed home with fantastic command duration and off leash reliability. Plus, the ability to walk on a loose leash, relax in their crates, and settle on a place cot.
Moving forward, Marshall and Mando’s owner decided to bring them for Day Training during the week! This will help keep Mando’s obedience skills in check and allow us to fine tune Marshall’s tasking and public access skills as he works toward becoming a service dog for his little girl 🐾
They have both made a ton of progress and I’m so excited to continue working with them in the weeks to come! See you soon boys 🧡

Maple is part of my Day Training program! She comes to me a few days each week to work on basic obedience skills, confidence building, and overall manners 🐾 Maple has been coming to Day Training for a few months now and has mastered so many skills; loose leash walking, coming when called, sitting and downing around distractions, relaxing on a place cot, and ignoring other dogs when out for a walk 🐕
Day Training has been a great way for Maple to learn new things, while giving her owners the chance to work with her at home too!

Zorro headed home yesterday!
After completing my Board and Train program, Zorro was reunited with his owner and headed home with a whole new skillset 🐾 During his time with me, Zorro learned how to sit and down for an extended period of time, relax on a place cot, settle in a crate, come when called, keep his feet on the floor when greeting people, and walk with a loose leash!
I’m so proud of Zorro’s progress and I can’t wait to watch him thrive back at home 🐶

🎓Paxton’s last day of school 🎓
Paxton is a special boy. He has been coming to All About Dogs ever since he was a little puppy!
Paxton grew up in my Day Training program. Coming to me a few days each week to work on basic obedience skills, manners, and exposure to new sights and sounds. He also got lots of practice with grooming, being comfortable in a crate, and appropriately interacting with other dogs! Paxton even worked his way up to becoming off leash reliable 🐾
I am honored to have helped Paxton and his family through the many stages of puppyhood. I am so proud of how far he’s come 🧡 Happy graduation day Pax!

Zorro has about one week left of his Board and Train with me 🐾 From gaining confidence to mastering obedience commands and learning how to be reliable off leash, Zorro has made so much progress already!
As we head into his last week, we will continue to add more duration, distance, and distractions to all of Zorro’s commands. This will ensure he can remain successful as he heads home 🏠

We took advantage of the beautiful day yesterday and had a group training session ☀️ Kat, Zorro, Dani, and Ice got some practice hanging out on place while I cleaned my car 🚘 Talk about multitasking!
All these dogs did a great job of settling around lots of distractions 🐾

This past weekend, Bowie was asked to be the sheep in our church’s Easter skit 🐑 He got to walk on stage, perform a few tricks, and visit with some kids! Bowie definitely enjoyed his time and handled the busy environment like a pro 🧡
While we were waiting to go on stage, Bowie was able to settle even with loud music playing and kids cheering all around! He was the perfect example of a sweet, well mannered dog who has mastered the art of doing nothing 🧘‍♂️

Evie is about halfway through her Puppy Stay and Train with me! During her time here, she has been learning how to walk nicely on leash, come when called, settle on place, relax in her crate, and hold her sits and downs for a longer period of time 🐾 Evie has also been on lots of puppy field trips to work on socialization and confidence building!
Evie is a super star puppy ⭐️ She loves her training sessions and is so willing to please!

Marshall and Mando are typically part of my Day Training program, but over the next few weeks they will be staying with me to complete my Board and Train program!
These boys already have a solid basic obedience foundation, so we can jump right in to some more advanced things 🐾 Marshall and Mando will be working on adding duration to their obedience commands, walking long distances with a loose leash, off leash reliability, and being able to relax outside of their crates 🐕

Welcome Zorro to my Board and Train program!
Zorro will be spending some time with me working on advanced obedience skills, manners, off leash reliability, and confidence building 🐶 While he’s here, we will also work on correcting some naughty behaviors like jumping on people and excessive barking.

Puppy Socialization 🐾
I feel like a lot of us hear this term and think it’s all about making sure our puppies play well with other dogs and are friendly with people, but in reality it’s much more than that!

The whole idea behind socialization is that you want to help your puppy have a positive association to all types of sight, sounds, and smells. Proper socialization is key to ensuring you have a confident, well-adjusted dog 🐶

The earlier you start the socialization process, the better! Don’t let your puppy’s vaccination schedule interfere 💉
Take Mingo for example, she is still a young puppy and hasn’t received all of her vaccinations yet, but that doesn’t stop us from little puppy field trips! We simply take extra precautions; Avoiding heavily dog populated areas and keeping her feet off of the floors are easy ways to keep Mingo safe and healthy while also allowing her to get all the important exposure 🛒

Paxton is gaining a human sibling this year! Adding a baby to the family is a big change for everyone, including your dog 🐾 To help Paxton have an easy transition into his new role as ‘big brother’, we have started some baby desensitization!
We continue Paxton’s training sessions like normal, but slowly integrate new sights, sounds, and smells that might be associated with a baby 🍼 Paxton’s walks now include a stroller and his obedience sessions are now accompanied by the sounds of a baby crying.
All of these unusual experiences, will soon become a new normal for Paxton and so far, he’s doing great with all things baby 🧡
