Reese is about halfway through his Board and Train with me! He is doing great job with his training- learning to walk nicely on leash, come when called, sit & down on command, and settle on a place cot šŸ¾

Paxton has learned everything from basic manners to advanced obedience and even off leash Ecollar training šŸ¾ Paxton, his family, and I worked together to create the perfect training plan. Where was I this past weekend?
My personal dogs, Dani, Flynn, Bowie, and I competed at the UKC Midwest Classic! We trialed in nosework, rally, and obedience and walked away with multiple qualifying runs šŸ¾ Bowie even earned a new title šŸ„³
Trials like this are a great way to show off all the hard work I put into my dogs and also shows me where we can improve!

Maverick completed his Board & Train and headed home last night!
When I first met Maverick, he was a big puller on the leash, struggled to settle on his own, and was very vocal when passing other people & dogs šŸ• Maverick headed home with the skills to walk nicely on a leash, settle on a place cot, be neutral around people & dogs, and come when called-even without a leash šŸ¾
Maverickā€™s owners were able to head home with the knowledge and tools needed to hold Maverick accountable and ensure that he is a well mannered dog in all types of situations!
I am so proud of Maverick and all of the progress he made!

Arlo had his second Private Lesson last nightšŸ• This pup and his family are doing great!
Arloā€™s family has been working hard to raise an obedient, confident puppy. They did their homework from last week and applied what they learned to Arloā€™s daily schedule šŸ¾
Last night we added the next stepā€¦duration!
Duration is simply asking your dog to stay in one position for a longer period of time.
This week, Arloā€™s family will be working on adding duration to his sit, down, and place commands.
Arlo is already making great progress and I canā€™t wait for our lesson next week šŸ§”

Lenny is back for some refresher training while his family is out of town! Lenny has been coming to me for training since heā€™s been a young puppy. Heā€™s learned everything from basic manners to advanced obedience skills and Ecollar training šŸ¾ During Lennyā€™s week with me, weā€™ll be fine tuning some of his skills and refreshing any commands that may have gotten a little rusty!

Welcome Reese to my Board and Train program!
Reese is a super sweet guy, but he does struggle with some anxiety. On top of learning advanced obedience skills and manners, Reese will be working on lots of settling skills! He will be learning how to be calm in a crate, relax on a place cot, and be content doing nothing. We will also be working on building Reeseā€™s confidence around new sights and sounds šŸ¾

Ice is a familiar face around here. He completed my Board and Train program last year and occasionally comes back to hang out with me while his owner is out of town šŸ¶ Iceā€™s owner takes advantage of my Refresher Training program. This means that Ice will receive daily training sessions, while heā€™s with me, to refresh and maintain the training he previously received!

Arlo is a bit of a nervous guy, so during his lessons Iā€™ll be coaching Arloā€™s owners on how to work through his nervousness and build some confidence šŸ• Plus, weā€™ll be working on basic obedience skills and manners!

Maverick is about halfway through is Board and Train with me! He is doing a great job of learning advanced obedience skills and off leash reliability šŸ¶ Because Maverick did some basic obedience training with me earlier, we have been able to jump right in to adding duration to his commands, holding him accountable for his actions, and proofing his skills around distractions. Iā€™ve even got some public outings planned for Maverick later this week!
Maverick has already made a ton of progress and he hasnā€™t even completed his Board and Train program yet! I canā€™t wait to reunite Mav with his family and show them all of the new skills he learned šŸ§”

Itā€™s been a whileā€¦let me reintroduce myself!

Hi, my name is Katie Nunemaker! I am the trainer, pet sitter, and dog lover behind All About Dogs Training & Pet Sitting. I have always loved dogs, but my love for training grew at the young age of 9. At that time, I was just starting my journey with the Elkhart County 4-H Dog Club. A few years later, I was introduced into the world of UKC and AKC showing where I began competing with my Miniature Poodle. I completed my 10 years of 4-H, continued showing dogs, and also started dipping my toes into the Schutzhund world with my German Shepherd.
Straight out of high school, I began working at a local veterinary clinic as a Certified Veterinary Assistant. At the end of 2020, I was hired on as a Service Dog Trainer at Top Notch Service Dogs where I gained so much knowledge about dog behavior and training.
In May of 2023, I took a huge leap of faith and started All About Dogs. What started off as a side gig, traveling from house to house doing Private Lessons, has now blossomed into training, boarding, and caring for numerous dogs every day. I am so grateful for the growth over the past 1.5 years and I canā€™t wait to see what the future holds!

Miss Maple is starting to become a real pro at loose leash walking šŸ¾
Maple has been learning how to walk past distractions calmly. Recently, she has been struggling with some reactivity towards other dogs and people, but we have been working hard to redirect those reactive behaviors and she is now able to pass by almost everyone without letting out a bark!
Maple is learning all of this and more through my Day Training program šŸ¶ Day Training is a great way for dogs to get training during the work day and be back home in time for dinner!

Welcome Maverick to my Board and Train program!
Maverick has been doing some basic obedience training on the weekends for the past month and now he gets to stay with me for a few weeks to learn some more advanced skills šŸ¶ Because Maverick already knows the basics, we can jump right into the next level of training! We will be focusing on Maverickā€™s off leash reliability, reactions to new people, command duration, and even go on some pet friendly outings šŸ¾
I am so excited to continue working with Maverick and I canā€™t wait to see how much he can learn in just a few weeks!

My personal dog, Bowie, went on his first official therapy dog visit last week!
When I first met Bowie, I knew his temperament would make him the ideal candidate for therapy work. Thatā€™s always been my goal with him!
Up until now, we have been doing tons of obedience training, socialization, and fine tuning manners to ensure Bowie would be an extremely well behaved boy. Bowie and I have taken multiple classes to help expose Bowie to new environments, people, and dogs. He has even earned multiple titles! Including: AKC Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Novice, UKC SPOT-ON and Rally Obedience šŸ¾ Therapy dogs have to learn to be bomb proof in a variety of different situations, around a variety of different people and Bowie is doing a great job of this!
I am so proud of how Bowie behaved last week and I canā€™t wait to take him on more visits! If you think your workplace, school, or event could benefit from a visit with Bowie, let me know. Iā€™m sure he would love to come say hi šŸ©

Thereā€™s a new face around here that I havenā€™t introduced yet!
Meet Kat! Kat has been hanging out with me for a few weeks now and has been learning to get along with my crew šŸ¶
Kat is an older girl (almost 8), but that doesnā€™t stop her from being super active! She is a very high drive dog, which challenges me, as a trainer, to dig into my toolbox and use different training techniques than I would normally use for a more mellow dog.
I would love to get Kat into Nosework, Competition Obedience, and Dock Diving! I canā€™t wait to see what all she accomplishes this year šŸ§”

Capone headed home last night!
After living as a farm dog for most of his life, Capone needed some manners to be able to live in the house. He headed home last night with lots of obedience skills and manners!
Capone is now able to walk nicely on leash, come when called, settle when asked, keep his feet on the floor for petting, and relax comfortably in a crate when needed šŸ¾ Capone learned all of these skills (and more) through my Board and Train program. I am so proud of the progress he made and I canā€™t wait to see him live his best life as a house dog!

Now, it may look like there is a whole lot of nothing happening in this video, but in reality these dogs are working on lots of things! šŸ¾Macy is on the grooming table learning how to stand still for the blowdryer, behave for brushing, and tolerate her nails being trimmed. šŸ¾Paxton and Remi are working on their duration place skills in the midst of lots of distractions. šŸ¾The rest of the dogs are learning how to relax and be calm in their crates while other dogs are out. This is often how I manage having multiple dogs out at one time without having chaos. Good work pups!
