Miss Maple is starting to become a real pro at loose leash walking 🐾
Maple has been learning how to walk past distractions calmly. Recently, she has been struggling with some reactivity towards other dogs and people, but we have been working hard to redirect those reactive behaviors and she is now able to pass by almost everyone without letting out a bark!
Maple is learning all of this and more through my Day Training program 🐶 Day Training is a great way for dogs to get training during the work day and be back home in time for dinner!

Welcome Maverick to my Board and Train program!
Maverick has been doing some basic obedience training on the weekends for the past month and now he gets to stay with me for a few weeks to learn some more advanced skills 🐶 Because Maverick already knows the basics, we can jump right into the next level of training! We will be focusing on Maverick’s off leash reliability, reactions to new people, command duration, and even go on some pet friendly outings 🐾
I am so excited to continue working with Maverick and I can’t wait to see how much he can learn in just a few weeks!

My personal dog, Bowie, went on his first official therapy dog visit last week!
When I first met Bowie, I knew his temperament would make him the ideal candidate for therapy work. That’s always been my goal with him!
Up until now, we have been doing tons of obedience training, socialization, and fine tuning manners to ensure Bowie would be an extremely well behaved boy. Bowie and I have taken multiple classes to help expose Bowie to new environments, people, and dogs. He has even earned multiple titles! Including: AKC Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Novice, UKC SPOT-ON and Rally Obedience 🐾 Therapy dogs have to learn to be bomb proof in a variety of different situations, around a variety of different people and Bowie is doing a great job of this!
I am so proud of how Bowie behaved last week and I can’t wait to take him on more visits! If you think your workplace, school, or event could benefit from a visit with Bowie, let me know. I’m sure he would love to come say hi 🐩

There’s a new face around here that I haven’t introduced yet!
Meet Kat! Kat has been hanging out with me for a few weeks now and has been learning to get along with my crew 🐶
Kat is an older girl (almost 8), but that doesn’t stop her from being super active! She is a very high drive dog, which challenges me, as a trainer, to dig into my toolbox and use different training techniques than I would normally use for a more mellow dog.
I would love to get Kat into Nosework, Competition Obedience, and Dock Diving! I can’t wait to see what all she accomplishes this year 🧡

My personal dog, Flynn, and I are at the Indy Winter Classic Dog Show this weekend ❄️
If your dog is in my care this weekend, don’t worry! They are getting all the attention they deserve thanks to my awesome crew- my husband, my mom, and Jordan 🐾 Plus, I’ll be home every morning and evening for any needed training sessions or walks.

Capone headed home last night!
After living as a farm dog for most of his life, Capone needed some manners to be able to live in the house. He headed home last night with lots of obedience skills and manners!
Capone is now able to walk nicely on leash, come when called, settle when asked, keep his feet on the floor for petting, and relax comfortably in a crate when needed 🐾 Capone learned all of these skills (and more) through my Board and Train program. I am so proud of the progress he made and I can’t wait to see him live his best life as a house dog!

Paxton is part of my Day Training program 🐶 He comes to me for training a few days each week and has been coming since he was just a young puppy! Throughout all of his time with me, Paxton has become quite the obedience superstar ⭐️ Paxton mastered all of his basic obedience commands at a young age and has recently been learning how to be off leash reliable! With lots of patience, consistency, and dedication from myself, Paxton, and his owners, we have been able to work up to this higher level of training.
This type of training doesn’t happen overnight, but it is definitely achievable!

Akuma is definitely not a new face around here!
This guy started in my Puppy Day Training program when he was just a few months old.
Recently Akuma’s owners have been taking advantage of my Stay and Train program. Whenever they have to head out of town, Akuma gets to hang out with me and work on his obedience skills!
This is a great way for Akuma to keep up on his training and it provides his owners with peace of mind that he will be cared for while they are gone 🐾

Welcome Maze to my Day Training program!
Maze is here to work on some basic obedience skills and confidence building 🐾 This sweet girl gets a little nervous in new situations and around new people.
During her days with me, Maze will be learning how to appropriately greet people instead of barking at them. As well as, getting tons of exposure to new sights and sounds to help her come out of her shell.

My personal dog, Bowie, and I have been attending a scent work class! Scent work is a super fun sport for all dogs, no matter their size, age, breed, or skill level 🐶 Scent work has proven to be great mental stimulation for Bowie and has challenged me to truly trust him.

I believe there is always more to learn, no matter how much experience you have! This class has been a great opportunity for me to learn something new and continue furthering my education. Continued education is so important in any career path, but especially in the dog training field. Because all dogs are different, they all learn in different ways. By taking these classes and learning from new trainers, I am able to take in a variety of fresh skills that I can add to my tool belt. Every new skill that I learn, could help me teach a dog in a way that they better understand and for that, I am so grateful to our amazing dog training community 🐾

Maple is part of my Day Training program! She comes for training a few days each week and has lots of fun while she’s with me 🐾 During her days here, Maple works on her obedience skills, manners, and interactions around other dogs. Recently, we have been helping Maple through some reactivity she has while walking past other dogs. Instead of barking at the sight of a new dog, Maple is learning to be neutral and look to her owner for direction.
It has been amazing to see all the progress Maple has made since first starting Day Training and she keeps building her skill set each day she comes 🧡

Capone is working his way through my Board and Train program. He is learning all the skills he needs to be a well mannered boy at home!
Capone is to the point now that he understands all the basic obedience commands, so we can start adding duration to those commands 🐾 Duration is simply asking Capone to stay in one position for a longer period of time.
We will continue fine tuning Capone’s skills and proofing him in different scenarios to make sure he has a successful transition back home 🧡

Judah headed home over the weekend!
When Judah first came to me, he was pretty nervous guy. We worked on lots of confidence building while teaching Judah advanced obedience skills and manners along the way! Judah headed home with a great foundation of skills that his family can continue building on.
Judah made tons of progress in the short time he was here and I am so pleased with everything he was able to learn in just a few weeks!

Now, it may look like there is a whole lot of nothing happening in this video, but in reality these dogs are working on lots of things! 🐾Macy is on the grooming table learning how to stand still for the blowdryer, behave for brushing, and tolerate her nails being trimmed. 🐾Paxton and Remi are working on their duration place skills in the midst of lots of distractions. 🐾The rest of the dogs are learning how to relax and be calm in their crates while other dogs are out. This is often how I manage having multiple dogs out at one time without having chaos. Good work pups!
