The Animal Law Section of the Montana Bar Association will host its first Animal Law Section CLE of the year on May 16, 2023 from 12:30 to 1:30! There will two presenters from the Animal Legal Defense Fund who will give the following 1-hour presentation via Zoom:

In this brief introduction to animal law, Animal Legal Defense Fund’s Pro Bono Program, Andrea Rodricks and Taylor Waters, provide an overview of the multifaceted, intellectually challenging, and ethically satisfying fields of the law pertaining to nonhuman animals. This presentation will provide a high-level overview of animal law’s various intersections and will equip attendees with a foundational orientation to progress deeper into this practice area.

Attendance is FREE, and this presentation has been approved by the Bar Association for one general CLE credit. If you plan to attend, please email me with your bar number, and I will let the Bar Association know of your attendance for CLE reporting purposes. MT Sen. Bob Brown, R. Thompson Falls, received the "Legislator Appreciation Award" from the Montana Trappers Association. He is drafting bills that 1) will pay bounties on wolves trapped and shot, 2) classify wolves as predators so they can be trapped and shot year round with no license or reporting necessary. Watch out for him, he's out to exterminate our wildlife.
