So proud of the SoDak/Protégé dogs this weekend!! Midge was at an AKC show this weekend and placed very well! She won her class, winners and Best of Opposite and then reserve winners and her class!. 🎊

Tonks competed in conformation as well this weekend with UKC and he did amazing 👏 he received 2 Group 1 placements! 🎊🎊

So proud of them both!
And then Kylah did very well this weekend training with me she worked through down town and indoor establishments.

Food for thought today after seeing a Facebook post in one of my local groups. Wanting to breed just because you love your pet isn't a good reason. Trust me it's not. I would LOVE to continue my heart dogs line, I love what she gave me in her one and only litter but that isn't responsible. She passed away before the age of 4 from Lymphoma Leukemia. It isn't worth the risk of breeding her puppies because of that. I hope more people will really look at their dogs and truly evaluate what they bring to the breed before they breed them. Picture of Karma my beautiful girl that taught me so much.

Amongst new opportunities in my life, and a focused direction of goals I have long since held, I've decided to give my kennel a fresh start, beginning with a brand new name. One that is more focused on my deep rooted views and goals, set forth when I originally fell in love with the breed; and one that I feel will help set us apart from all others.

The word Protège means "protected" in the French language, and beings how Belgians have a strong fluency in the French language, I felt that it was the perfect fit for my new kennel. I want to breed dogs that are healthy, beautiful, and well rounded, but know how to do a job and be versatile. Dogs that know how to protect their families and also just be well loved family members.

I warmly welcome you to Protège Belgians, a kennel strongly focused on the health, beauty, durability, and versatility of the Belgian breed, specifically focused on the Belgian Tervuren.

We are so excited to journey down our new chosen path, and we hope you come along for the ride.

Maverick retiring jumps this past weekend. He is an 8 year old Malinois. He's been a tripod for 2 years now he's starting to show his age more and more now. ❤️ Dock diving is one of his favorite things to do but it is very hard on him which is why we decided to retire him. ❤️❤️
