Dear friends and family of the Moab veterinary clinic. Some of you may know that the moab veterinary clinic has now been around for 40 years! In that time it has gone through many expansions and remodels to get to where it is today. I feel however that the clinic has outgrown it's space and needs some upgrading.
I would love to be able to build a new building but am running into a couple problems. 1- we would need a new property to build a new clinic on and 2- building expenses are still quite high.
In order to afford needed property and building we would either have to raise our prices significantly or ask for donations/ do some major fundraising. So I wanted to ask for ideas of how I can make this happen.

There is a piece of property I have my eye on but it is large and therefore very expensive, otherwise there aren't many open pieces of property with at least a couple acres that would accommodate what I'm thinking of.

I want a building with at least 4 exam rooms, 2 specifically for dogs, one for cats, and one for grieving and such things where people don't have to walk through the lobby to get in and out in such times as when they lose a loved one. There would be many other small differences like leaving the current clinic as a boarding facility so the healthy did and sick ones don't have to share spaces.

I would also like to put in a barn for working on large animals, and keeping sick horses. And I would have to build a while new corral for cattle.

Anyway if anyone has ideas to help us achieve such goals besides magically winning the lottery, please share and let me know.

One of our staff saw this kitty get hit by a car near where the old Spanish Valley Veterinary Clinic was (across from Tom Tom's). This is a female tabby cat, no collar or microchip.

She is currently at Moab Veterinary Clinic, receiving some stabilizing care.

Please call us if you think she is your cat, or if you are interested in donating to her care 435-259-8710. Our staff member that saw her get hit is taking it upon herself to cover costs.

If this kitty remains unclaimed, we will update on she's doing.

Update 2: All these little babies have now found their forever homes.

Update: Little Dolores and Pepa have found a home.
Luisa is our only little baby left.

We have 3 cute little fluff balls that are in need of a good home. We have had them from the time they were around 10 days old. They came to us after their mom ran off and never came back. We had a mother who had just finished nursing her babies that happily took them on. They had a few medical things that they had to heal from but now are ready for their forever homes. They are approx. 13 weeks old now, have their first shorts. We only ask that you pay for their kitten shots and get them spayed when they are old enough. If you would like to meet them please call us at 435-259-8710

Over 30 Years in the Making

Dr. Sorensen graduated from Colorado State University in 1983. After working in Arizona for a year he came to Moab and opened the Moab Veterinary Clinic. Dr Sorensen loves working with animals, small and big, and the people who belong to them. When he first opened the clinic it was only him and his wife, Sheryl. Sheryl is the key element that keeps things in the clinic running smoothly from day to day. Having started the business side by side with Dr. Sorensen she knows all the ins and outs to the business. She often works right alongside her husband as a technician and/or receptionist on top of all her other responsibilities as office manager. Initially Dr. Sorensen and Sheryl worked out of the garage until they could afford to add on to the practice. Since the start they have expanded the facilities and upgraded their equipment multiple times. 2013 saw the addition of the mobile trailer to the Moab Veterinary Clinic, which has since become indispensable, providing veterinary care in smaller rural communities. The mobile clinic makes a visit to Monticello once a week on Tuesdays (barring weather and fairgrounds activities) and Green River once a month on the first Thursday (barring weather).

The Moab Veterinary Clinic proudly serves Southeastern Utah and Southwestern Colorado. We also work in conjunction with the Moab Valley Humane Society, providing spay/neuter clinics. In 2017 we partnered with Hoof and Paw in Nucla, Colorado and brought our mobile clinic to Nucla to hold a spay/neuter clinic and have been providing spay/neuter clinic services periodically ever since. We hold vaccination clinics once a year in Moab, Monticello, and Green River, Utah. The Moab Veterinary Clinic also offers endoscopy services, ultrasound for large and small animals, digital x-ray, basic small animal dentistry, boarding for small animals, emergency services, and many surgical procedures. We work with many ranchers in the surrounding area, offering ultrasound for pregnancy checking, USDA accredited veterinarians to perform Bangs (brucellosis) vaccinations and tattooing, Coggins (Equine Infectious Anemia) testing, bovine trichomoniasis (trich) testing, equine teeth floating, bull fertility testing, and pulmonary arterial pressure testing for cattle (brisket disease).

In 2017, we worked with Vets First Choice to provide an online pharmacy option to our clients. Our online pharmacy offers many products not normally stocked in our brick and mortar (or mobile) clinic and offers auto shipping on many items! In 2020 we have partnered with Hillā€™s to Home to offer delivery on Hillā€™s Science Diet and Prescription Diet foods.

If you have questions about any of the services offered at the Moab Veterinary Clinic, donā€™t hesitate to call or stop by!
