This is going to be a long one so get comfortable.🛋️
Beaux and Bandit are our 2nd longest residents having come in back in May. They are also the only 2 left from the 17 dogs we rescued that day from an uninhabitable mobile home where there were 12 puppies and several adult dogs with quills requiring emergency vet care.
Bandit is a very shy and timid young lady just under a year old. Yesterday she had the opportunity to go home with a lovely couple who just lost their heart dog this week, she settled in comfortably with them during their visit so fostering was the option we agreed on for Bandit as they decide if their hearts are ready, we were ecstatic they chose our underdog.
Once home, Bandit switched to flight mode and did get away from them, bolting and what they did right-was immediately notify us.
As with any new adoptable, they don’t know their people or where home is.
We wasted no time with a very devoted board member, our manager and staff speeding to where Bandit was roaming until well after dark-sadly their efforts were unsuccessful.
This morning our same crew, who were all scheduled to work today, grabbed Bandits sister from the shelter around 6am and headed back to where Bandit was still wandering.
🐾Honorable mention to the staff who all showed on their Sunday off to step up and take care of the animals while the other 1/2 of our crew was back walking the woods..with Beaux.🐾
After hours of walking, Beaux was growing tired so she was placed in the truck for a break when a miracle happened…Bandit was spotted sniffing the truck her sister was sleeping in!
With a slow approach, we were able to give her the biggest hug while latching right on to her never letting go…Bandit didn’t even try to resist.
We can’t tell you what a relief it was to have her again knowing she’s safe and the sleepless night we all had worrying so about her alone in the dark and in a strange place…hungry, cold and so scared. 🥺
Bandit was soon enjoying a pup cup with her sister around noon today less than 24 hours of her adventure and we are over the moon she is safe!
Her potential family feels it’s not the right time for this new adventure. we respect that and hope to see them if and when they are ready. (No negativity to them!)
If you’ve stayed with us this far, thank you.
We have one last ask…as you browse the pics of these 2 sisters, do you have space in your heart and home for them?
They are so, SO good and good with everything!
And after all Bandit is a survivor and Beaux is her savior- a hero and she doesn’t even know it!🦸♀️
Bandit is just under a year and Beaux is just under 2 years old.
Both deserving of a place to call home and family to value them.
Please stop in or leave your phone number in our messenger if you’re open to a conversation. Considering them is something you wouldn’t regret, we promise!
Thank you for letting us brag up our devoted staff, manager and board who are steadfast in their commitment to the animals. We couldn’t be more proud and don’t share the great things they do enough because our focus is attention to the pets we serve rightfully so. This time we had to slip in the humans who step up when people failed. 🥰
