Peeps! We have this cute little boo looking for forever.🥰

Coco’s owner passed away and he was alone for about 8 days!😱 The whispers were telling a story that when his owner was removed, that Coco was left behind because the neighbors reported he bites.🙁
Coco had a hero come for him thankfully, that’s when we read his story and had to lend our support to Coco and his angel who rescued him.🥰.

Turns out just as we thought…he was just scared, and still is. 😢 But he is a L❤️VER❗️
It takes him a minute but he curls up on your lap in no time and smothers you in kisses.😘 We kiss him back, his expression tells us he’s never been kissed before 🥺 but he accepts all the smushes we give.💓

We are not aware of any recorded bites and no bites here! He shakes, uncontrollably 🥺 and we don’t blame him! Missing his owner, new faces, new places…Patience is all he needs and only about 5 minutes and he melts.

Coco is a Corgi/Heeler mix, 2 years old, 23 lbs and good with cats & dogs. He is shy at first but , once he trusts you, he will be inseparable and extremely affectionate.

Coco is waiting…
See you at noon today!

Klondike says boo on you!😄❄️
He seems to be getting his wish for a white Christmas, but is missing a home and family for the big event.🎄

Klondike is about 2 years old, 65 pounds, doesn’t mind other dogs or kitties-he is a sweet boy!🍬

We're completely overwhelmed with gratitude! 🙏
The outpouring of support has been nothing short of incredible, we're speechless and so grateful.

The donations are incredible but all your amazing words of support really boost us and that’s so, so needed. So thank you. ☺️

This wouldn't be possible without each and every one of YOU! Your kindness and compassion for animals in need mean the WORLD to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for believing in our mission and for being part of our pack! 🐾💕

Back to regularly scheduled business. Cinnamon (featured in our post last night) has a pending adoption, the outpouring of interest she had for adoption is overwhelming and we are thankful! There will be more, there always are.😔

So let’s focus on the remainder of our residents like Jax who are dreaming of a home for Christmas.

His last stunt was viral…but no one came for him!🥺Click the link for a feel good video, you can thank Jax by rescuing him.🥰

❤️❤️❤️ADOPTION PENDING❤️❤️❤️
We need you to hear us—really hear us. We are drowning.

Our shelter is at capacity. There’s a waiting list of people needing to surrender and every day brings more calls from owners who can’t keep their pets. Adoptions are slow. Shelters are full. Fosters are almost nonexistent. Some animals are adopted and then returned. It feels like we’re losing a battle we can’t afford to lose.

We show up every day—365 days a year—for 8 to 9 hours, often more. There are no real days off, no quiet evenings where we can set the worry down. We go home, hold our own pets, and cry. We replay the moments we had to say, “I’m sorry… we don’t have a kennel,” and it eats us alive. We hold dogs that shake with terror after being abandoned. We watch owner surrenders shut down or turn reactive because their world just ended and they don’t understand why. Then we wipe our faces, set the alarm, and do it again tomorrow.

And for what? Not for praise. Most days we’re not met with thank-yous. We’re met with yelling, cussing, threats—belittled because we couldn’t take your dog or cat. We know you’re hurting too. But we need you to know that we are breaking.

Please, be patient with us. Be kind. Be respectful. Until you’ve walked in these shoes, you can’t know how mentally and emotionally draining this work is.

We are desperate—for adopters, for fosters. We are desperate for people to open their eyes and see how overwhelmed animal care is right now. Please spay and neuter your pets. Please keep them safely secured. Please understand that if your call or message goes unanswered, it’s not because we don’t care—it’s because we’re feeding, cleaning, and medicating the roughy 100 animals already in our care. We are doing everything we can, but there isn’t enough time or space to say “yes” to everyone.

To those who stand with us—who adopt, foster, donate, share, and speak kindly—we love you. We mean that from the bottom of our hearts. We are exhausted, but your support is the reason we can keep going, even when it feels like the fight is slipping through our fingers.

This is Cinnamon, she is at least 12 years, neglected and had to be removed from her home as she was not properly being cared for in her senior years-just when she needs it most.

We ask you to choose us on this 🙏
We respectfully recognize there are lots of needy places asking for your support today, please know our our residents rely strictly on your help. The pets who reside here can't help themselves and are completely reliant on your donations.🐶😻

Cinnamon is one of many that we see time, after time, after time, day, after day, after day and we are trying desperately to keep up.

Thanks for reading and donating.💖

Y'all, we're swooning over the gift of grooming for our pups from Allison and The Velvet Dog team! 😍 They spoiled our furry friends rotten with an amazing sPAW DAY and we're still basking in the cuteness overload! 🐾💋

A huge THANK YOU to this incredible team for bringing HCHS joy and making our residents feel so special. You're the real MVPs! 🏆

And guess what? They'll be back at it next Monday to work their magic on the rest of our pack! 🐶

Ready to take one of these adorably perfect models home? Adopt, don't shop and give 'em a home for Christmas! 🎄🐾

We really don’t know why no one has scooped up this pork chop.🥰

Blaze is two years old and ready for his new start after having no stability in his life.
He's a happy boy who is good with other dogs and cats and likes to hold his leash while you walk him! He sits and lays down and would love to have a place to call home!

You have to see him in person to appreciate this beefy boy. Open at noon every day except Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
