🚨Let’s talk about matting🚨

Matting is not a death sentence! It does happen, especially with our curly haired and double coated friends. On the surface, it could look put together but underneath it’s matted. I will ALWAYS call you if I feel like we need to shave shorter or just shave down and start over. My goal is to save what I can but to get those mats off your baby.

What happens over time with matting? Contusions/bruises will start to form over time under the mat as it pulls tighter at the skin. Depending on how short we have to go, we get you scheduled to come back in 8-10 weeks for another groom with a bath and trim 4-5 weeks out.

🌶️Sweet senior girl Pepper had some pretty serious matting, mostly on her legs and feet. But we were able to save the fur on top this time! She’ll be able to come back in a few weeks for a good hydrating bath & then a true groom in 9 weeks or so.😌 She’s like a whole new dog after her groom!❤️

Back story, six or so months ago while I was still working in Veterinary Medicine, I received a call from the caregiver of one of our clients that our client had passed away and they were in desperate need to find this 15 year old girl a home. Without hesitation, I told them to bring her into me and I’d foster until we could find the right home.

Keisha had pretty patchy fur and an ongoing yeast infection on her skin; basically old girl was looking rough! One week later, she had her victory ride home to the BEST people who had so much experience with chows. Today, her fur was thick enough that she needed a trim AND a deshedding treatment!!😭🥹❤️

This girl stole my heart and my close friend’s heart who also fosters for rescues (Shannon you’re an angel). She’s the nosiest, treat driven, laziest queen you will ever meet. I promise. Today after her groom, her nap was too important to get up from at my shop. We had to physically lift and pull her out the door 😂

✨My sweet boy Brewer came to visit me today! We decided to get rid of the teddy bear cut with it being winter and take him shorter!

Maintaining longer poodle coats in the winter requires a trip to me every 4 weeks or else matting occurs quicker with the snow and other winter elements. Brewers mom is a L & D nurse so we need 6-8 week appointments to better manage his gorgeous coat!💅💅💅

Hello everyone! Just an update that I promise I will be returning calls, texts, messages, and rescheduling clients in a few days. I’m currently home with bronchitis and 23 weeks pregnant. So I need to rest if I’m going to be able to continue working with my beautiful puppies!

🚨🚨LONG POST AHEAD!

Good Morning Everyone & Happy New Year! 🍾

I am rolling out a cancellation policy and a mandatory health waiver as the New Year sets in. This was already in the works but the holidays were much busier than I had anticipated.

If you’re a current client, I will be contacting you in the next few days via email to sign both waivers & moving forward will not be booking without a card on file.

I am a mother and have one on the way so no one understands more than me when things come up or just happen! But unfortunately, if you don’t show or cancel last minute, I don’t get paid and I don’t have time to fill the appointment to get paid.

Moving forward, less than 24 hours notice or a No Call No Show will be a 100% charge. If you cancel prior to, a 50% charge. A health waiver has been mandated as well. If you aren’t honest with me in regards to your pets underlying health and something happens while your pet is in my care, I cannot be held liable.

I work really really hard to maintain an appointment based atmosphere for everyone so it minimizes stress and chaos for your pet. 😌🥹

🚨Let’s talk about naughty pets!🚨 (Walter is just for attention because he’s the best boy😂)

I’ve gotten a lot of inquires about grooming the “ungroomable” pets. It truly does not matter the age or size, I’ll at least put in a good effort to groom your pet. My original background for nearly 14 years was in Veterinary Medicine. I received my first certification at 17 before I even earned my high school diploma. But prior to that, I spent every summer from the age of 9 in Thompsonville, Illinois at my Uncles veterinary clinic.💅 I’ve worked day practices & even the #1 veterinary hospital in Rutherford County in Nashville, Tennessee which specialized in emergency medicine.

✨I don’t care how long it takes or if we have to split appointments up, when it comes to your pets groom I will do my very best to make them look and feel their best. My shop is appointment based to minimize the stress a busy shop can cause your babies. I’ve done my best to keep my prices at a fair and reasonable place so I can take you all by appointments & I am very proud of this!✨

I had back to back husky deshedding and I can confirm my shop looked like the North Pole by this morning! IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO DESHED. It not only helps double coated breeds regulate their temperatures but it’s also more comfortable for them afterwards due to the base coats ability to mat!

Both came in for deshedding treatments & as you can see THEY NEEDED IT. The pile of hair is from ONE of them. Absolutely wild! But seriously, I didn’t want to give them back. We shared goldfish and snuggled. Who wants to give that up?! 😭🥹❤️

Even at 35lbs, he sheds more than a lot of husky’s I’ve groomed! The second photo was just after the double bath treatment and scrub; not even to the brush and blowout yet! He’ll be back to see me every four weeks until this base coat is maintained.💅
