🚨Feeding a forage only diet? 🚨

A diet or ration balancer is always recommended and here's why...

This chart shows the NRC's (National Research Council) MINIMUM nutrient requirements for an 1100lb horse in moderate work (aka performance horse) eating an average quality, straight alfalfa diet. Even the highest quality alfalfa will be lacking key nutrients.

101 Diet Balancer is pelleted for ease of feeding, very low in NSC (safe for metabolic horses), does not provide unnecessary calories or fillers, has an extensive guaranteed analysis complete with organic trace minerals, biotin at effective levels, and provides the added benefit of guaranteed digestive support (prebiotics, probiotics, & digestive enzymes.)

Looking to support your weanling for optimal bone and joint development?

Ortho Max provides functional ingredients to support the health and development of bone, cartilage and support tissues. Ortho Max supplies a concentrated blend of glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and antioxidants.

For those that want to do everything they can. Here are a few things to think about when it comes to joint and soft tissue development.

🦴The most critical time period for maximizing bone fill and joint structural integrity is between 9-12 months of age. We recommend using Ortho Max during this period at minimum.

💪For every chance at success we recommend doing the Orthopedic Protocol which consists of Ortho Max, Surge, and Fish Oil Factor. The nitric oxide technology and blood thinning and anti-inflammatory properties improve nutrient delivery to bone, cartilage, and ligaments.

Ideally these horses would also be receiving the advanced bone fill properties of lithiothamnion/seaweed calcium in Intensify Growth & Development. If they are not on that feed, consider adding Gastro pHix (1 lb per day).

“Horses don't have a gallbladder. Because of this, horses' livers only secrete bile acids, salts, and buffers when stimulated by consumption of food. Horses with an empty stomach for a prolonged period of time are more prone to ulcers because the stomach continually releases stomach acid, regardless of whether or not food is consumed. The buffering agents which neutralize this acid are only released when food is consumed. Do not let your horse go more than 6 hours without eating. Do not exercise or transport your horse on an empty stomach.” - Podcast Ep. 48 | Gastro pHix - Foregut Health
