Ok- getting down to the nitty gritty on active discussions about our next breeding. Marsali, will be in season soon. (Truly already had expected her to be) and we are in the process of deciding whether or not to breed her. Because the puppy market has been difficult recently, due to this economy and a glut of doodle breeders dumping puppies in need to shelters, we would like to enter into a litter, with a known , list of committed puppy families for at least half of the expected litter size (looking for approx 4 commitments prior to breeding)

🛑TRIGGER WARNING🛑

Talk of neglect and pictures.

We know everyone has wanted an update on “Tyrion”. The last few days have been a bit of a roller coaster for all of us- him included.

What happened is one of the nightmares that we as breeders never want to face.

On September 21st, Tyrion was sent to his new home and his name was changed to “Dorito”. As ethical breeders, of course we vet the home as much as possible and I, personally, even went to the home to see it for myself.

Like all of our puppies, Tyrion was sent to his new home cleared by our Veterinarian. At 4 months old he weighed 17.5lbs, give or take an ounce.

We kept in touch with his former owners, and always were told “Dorito” was fine. Recently, there was even an inquiry from his owner on what could be done for a bit of constipation. Up until that point, we were always told he was perfect.

In December, he even came to an event at my former grooming salon. He, just like his siblings, was going through his puppy “awkward” stage. All in all he was a happy, healthy puppy.

An open line of communication is something we take pride in. As breeders we will always do whatever we can for our puppies. No matter the time or day.

Fast forward to this past Sunday. I was awoken with a text message stating that “Dorito’s” owner wanted to rehome him for personal reasons. Though this is never the ideal situation for any of our puppies, we understand that life throws curveballs and our puppies will ALWAYS have a home with us, no matter the reason, for the rest of their lives.

Immediately I was on the phone with my co owners and we came up with a game plan.

I replied to her, stating that I would pick him up the same day- and I am forever glad that I did. Once my ducks were in a row, I headed to get him. I was met at the door by his former owner, and the now one year old Poodle that was handed to me was encased in months of matting.

The reality did not hit me until I picked him up to put him in my Jeep. He was so incredibly light. Immediately I weighed him and I could not believe my eyes when we read the numbers 1 - 9. This year old Standard Poodle was 19lbs.

I knew then that he was in the safest place he had been in the 10 months since he left my care.

Jill, Lori and I stand by our contract. If we feel as if these puppies are in the wrong hands we will take them back, and we will fight tooth and nail to ensure their safety.

There are many steps ahead of us in this situation. I have personally made the choice to rename him from “Dorito”, as I feel like he deserves a new name for his new life. A new life of knowing nothing but love. Davos Seaworth was always my favorite character in the Game of Thrones franchise, and I knew this small dude deserved such a powerful name.

But, we promise you one thing, Davos. You will never be alone in any fight. We will walk this road with you.

This is the hardest part of doing what we do. Our dogs are our lives, and my co-owners and I are asking all of our Poodle family to keep "Tyrion" from the Game of Thrones litter on their minds.

Time for some input from YOU..

This does not constitute a commitment to a puppy from our next litter- but rather , I'm looking for a wish list...
What are YOU looking for in a standard..if you were interested in adding a standard to your family in the next 12 months... what are you looking for a specific color? A service prospect? Agility prospect? Grooming model? High drive ? Show prospect? Just a pet? (Nothing at all wrong with that).

Our goals are to produce solid Poodles that could meet any of these needs.

WE SHOW- and gain titles to show that our breeding pairs, are structurally sound, and meets the standards of the breed.

WE TEST- to rule out breeding preventable faults into our lines

WE BREED- on a limited basis, to provide sound Poodles to our friends and followers, who are looking for healthy , well bred, lovingly raised, standard Poodles to fulfill their desires for anything from show prospects-to simply pets!

ALL because we simply love this breed!

Sorry, been inactive for a while... taking care of my 5 poodles, 3 of them elderly, and a MIL with dementia takes time...

BUT... just throwing it out there for anyone who may be interested...
We are anticipating Marsali ... AKC Champion- cream bitch...great health testing done... going into season sometime in the next month or two, so it is time to start seeing if there is any preliminary interest in puppies... sire will be AKC Grand Champion Huey..also cream and also great testing results...

Since it's not been a great puppy market recently... we would really like to have a list of pretty confident clients lined up prior to breeding, otherwise..we may hold off another cycle..

SOOO... let us know soon , if this is something you are ready to semi commit to so that we can make an informed decision moving forward.!

Ok folks... just jumping on here to give you my personal review of my cousins new grooming product Slick-Air Grooming Tool

I tried it with my older pets..with really short clips..and it worked great - after some learning curve.. (me- not problem with the product).

Today I tried it on my Grand champion coat machine ...I only did her bracelets this evening ..as I'm trying to learn this tool slowly... I wrt her matter bracelets, and golly...her overgrown matted bracelets with completely dry and dematted in less than 5 minutes...

I especially loved that it has a cooling mode, so if you are brushing an area over a longer period.. you can have it switched to cool to avoid making the process to hot for the animal..

The noise level is very low..and the intensity of the heated air is enough to dry quickly..but not so much force, that the dog runs away from the pressure blowing...

I LOVE this tool! It's well built, reasonably priced.. and I promise you I aM NOT a groomer.. but this tool would be an asset to the pet owner ..big or small dogs/horses/anything really...who wants to maintain grooms between professional grooming..or an huge plus to the groomers out there.!

Check out the page..and seriously..consider getting one for your self..or your grooming business!

You won't regret it... and really! Truly..it cost less than a pair of grooming shears!!!

This will be our next breeding..we think... AKC Champion Marsali- to AKC Grand Champion Huey. Marsali's coat, may look a bit of a mess... but it is because I am 3 months into attempting to "Cord" her..so far ..so good! See Huey, checking out the goods!? And then Marsali, extends her paw and seems to "knight' sir Huey and gives him her blessing...lol innthe background picture on the wall far left..blue background, you can see her picture when she won her first Major! Marsali got ALL of her championship points in a MCC clip!

So doing a general message and check in...
Welcome to.all the new poodle peeps who have liked the page, we hope to eventually win you over to own one of our selectively bred standards.

That being said... right now.., my cream female AKC champion, and Blue female AKC Grand Champion are in heat, nearing the end of their cycles ..THANK GOD!!!

We didn't breed either of them this cycle, because I, the birther mom... have alot of travel planned for Feb, and March, and didn't want to have due pregnant girls, or freshly delivered puppies to have to worry about...

But, fingers crossed, we will have some interest/,with commitment for a puppy from that planned litter that should fall due late summer, depending on heat cycle...

We will be creating a "poster" soon outlining the attributes of both sire and dam. !

Just had a thought about our available Oberyn...
While he wouldn't be a candidate for showing AKC- only because he has a white abstract marking on his chest... he is beautifully sound in every other aspect. He has a soft temperment , less of a purely "show" temperment that sometimes makes show dogs more ?energetic...look at me.. etc...

So, my thought was, that although he is registered with AKC... I don't think the process of getting a fully registered AKC dog...registered in UKC is difficult ... he could carry dual registration, and would be the perfect candidate for someone looking to start showing, to gain experience in the ring, gain some wins, as you learn the show business...

OR... a GREAT candidate for a Jr handler to start with, even in the AKC... because my understanding is that for Jr handling, the handler is judged.., not the dog..and his easygoing attitude would make for easy wins, and gained confidence...

Thoughts? Interest?
