Today Mom has been focusing on Skittles and teaching her some manners. Each puppy has been picked out for quality time with Mom. Not sure what she tells them but they are all excellent pups so it must be good advice.
Mark sure hoping his new home has one of these fancy dog water coolers. He sure spends a lot of time hanging around the water cooler. Good thing he doesn’t have a “day job”.
This is sweet Belle - there’s something very satisfying about a nice squeak toy. The puppies had been playing with their mother’s bigger squeak toy today and when she saw them she quickly rescued it and jumped over the fence with it. Must run in the family.
Down at the old watering hole!
Brisk morning and time to play after our breakfast (it is before 8am so don’t plan on sleeping in late just yet). They just figured out what to do with the balls and Belle shows the makings of a soccer stall as she controls the ball all the way down the lawn.
Don’t mess with me! The girls don’t mind playing but even though the boys are bigger they don’t tolerate rough housing. Jasmine telling Mark to cool it.
More cuteness. That’s actually Ariel in the beginning. They move so fast it’s hard to get them named right as they whiz around.
Big day but we’re wrapping up out front with some shade and a cool breeze.
Another day of learning and growing. Today before nap we’re going to learn about the grooming table and getting brushed. We think brushes might be something to chew - it’s so exciting.
And the whole gang playing before nap time. Recommend making a list of things you want puppies to get used to in first two weeks when you get them home. Don’t need too many repeat exposures but one or two quality ones (treats and gentle hands do wonders) to things they’ll be exposed to in life with you - bearded men, livestock, boats, shopping baskets if you’re a shopper, kids, wheelchairs, etc. I’m working on a lot of the basics but each lifestyle is different so make a list you can use to check off.
Puppies enjoyed today's "meet and greet". They are so excited to know they can all go to work or have their new parents home with them during the day. Life is good! Getting in all my cuddles while I can. More puppies get to go swimming tomorrow; almost everyone has had at least one turn. They are now up to about a cup of food a day per puppy. Today's weights (7/12) are: Matthew 3 lb 4.5oz, Mark 3lb 11.5oz, Luke 3lb 8.3 oz, John 3lb 7oz. Girls are Ariel 3lb 1oz, Elsa 3lb 9oz, Belle 3lb, Jasmine 3lb .8oz. The littler girls will be getting fed first for the next few days. The brothers like to come help them finish if they all get fed together.
Keeping cool in the heat of the day in our water park.
Playtime before our nap then we’ll swim.
Great start to another day. Lots more cuddling yesterday and today will be a cuddling day too!
Getting ready to meet new parents this weekend - weighed, wormed and trying out our new collars. Learning to spend more time outside.
Finally figuring out to play with toys and scale the slide. Big adventures today.
Back at the water park today for a picnic lunch after a good nap. We’re up to two meals a day and our beef patties are always topped with really good sprinkles (lots of powdered supplements to make us grow healthy and strong). Today we’re also getting to practice walking on metal trays (like a vet table) and will get up on the grooming table and listen to the clipper sounds.
Field trip to puppy version of Gilroy Gardens Water Oasis.
Pool party to celebrate the 4th of July and Luke even had a “dip” in the big people pool. Had “mini hamburgers” for breakfast. Can this day get any better?
We’re four weeks old and we know it! Up and ready to tear into a new day.
