Dot's Really Old Dogs Home

Dot's Really Old Dogs Home Dot's Really Old Dogs Home is where the Little Big Dog Rescue sanctuary dogs live. Some of the seniors that LBDR rescues are adopted. Details are on our website.

The ones who are not, become our sanctuary dogs. We have room for 12 dogs, and we have foster homes. Nothing makes me happier than to tell an owner that his beloved senior dog will be taken care of in a loving home for the rest of its days. A dog whose owner has to go into a nursing home or worse, passes away, is often homeless and ends up in the county shelter. Seniors are one of the most euthani

zed group of dogs in shelters, because they linger and take up space. The longer they stay in the shelter, the more stressed they become. Dogs who are shelter- or kennel-stressed do not "show" well, and end up on the euth list. My mission is to offer a home to these seniors as well as to special-needs dogs (blind, deaf, liver shunt, diabetes) and hospice dogs. If you have a heart for seniors and "underdogs," you know how happy I am when I wake up each day at Dot's Really Old Dogs Home! All the dogs who live at Dot's Really Old Dogs Home are the property of Little Big Dog Rescue, Inc. While I promise them a permanent forever home with me, they are available for adoption. If you have a heart for seniors, please see Little Big Dog's website and let us know if one of our Old Dogs catches your eye. If you are a shelter or a rescue and are looking for a home for a senior, special needs or hospice dog, our contact information is on the Little Big Dog website. Donations to Little Big Dog Rescue can be made via Paypal to:
[email protected]. Our big expenses are food, medications, incontinence pads (like the cloth ones used in nursing homes), Advantix or Nextguard for large (< 50 lb.) dogs, and Panacur for deworming. Our food is ordered from Life's Abundance.
