We are opening on Wednesday, July 17th @ 10am!

Our little red barn is up and ready to go in the Supermercado Lomabonita #5 parking lot on HWY 25. We are so excited to see all of your smiling faces!

If you don't already know, our 🌽 is grown locally in Brooklyn Park and picked fresh every morning (you'll never have to worry about getting day old 🌽 from us)!

If you're planning on stopping in Wednesday, message me so I can make sure I have enough corn!

We will also have summer squash, cucumbers, and green beans.

We'll be open with our gourmet white sweet corn on Wednesday, July 17th at our new location in the Supermercado parking lot on 25 across from Hi-Way Liquors in Monticello. Looking forward to seeing you!

Fresh Pickin will be opening for the season on Monday, July 15th. Not only will we have our famous white sweet corn🌽, we will also have cucumbers🥒, zucchini & summer squash, potatoes🥔, green beans, and MORE!!!

GOOD NEWS: We are keeping the prices the same as last year!

Looks like we'll have corn next week! Stay tuned for more details. Our "Little Red Barn" should be up in the parking lot of the Supermercado across from Hi-Way Liquors by day end tomorrow!

🌽🌽🌽As you can see, our sweet corn is *almost* ready!!! 👏

The heat this week is really helping push the growing along, so we are looking at opening up for the SWEET CORN🌽 season on MONDAY, JULY 15TH! This spring we were hoping for the 12th or 13th, but even with weather conditions that have not been ideal, we're only a few days behind our projected date.

Of course we will have other delicious produce as well. Everything is picked fresh from our farm here in Brooklyn Park: Cucumbers, green beans, zucchini, summer squash, potatoes, and MORE!!!

Corn update! Look below for more details on Bert's corn. Currently we are hoping for the week of July 15th for our corn to be ready!

🌽Many of our loyal customers have been asking about our sweet corn: "How is it doing with all the rain?", "When will it be ready?", "Where can we get sweet corn this year?"

The good news is that all the rain has not hurt the corn because we farm in Brooklyn Park where the soil is extremely sandy and drains well. We've had a LOT of rain, but many of the big storms missed us, so no damage to the crops. In fact, all this rain is a relief from last year when we had to irrigate all summer long! The cooler than normal weather has slowed the sweet corn growth though. It was looking like we might have sweet corn as early as the 10th or 11th of July, but due to the lack of really hot days, we're looking at around the 15th of July. Sweet corn needs heat to grow. We are planning to have the same Fresh Pickin's locations as last year:

•Brooklyn Park
•Chanhassen
•Blaine
•St. Michael
•Monticello
•Big Lake
•Lakeville Pickin's in Lakeville

More information on locations and hours as the season gets closer. Our sweet corn will also be available at a few Twin Cities grocery stores including select Hy-Vee's.

🍉For those of you asking about melons: Muskmelon are typically ready at the end of July, & watermelon in early August. As always, our crops are pampered, and every effort is made to get them ripe as early as possible. So we are hoping to have melons earlier than normal as well!

🍓For now, enjoy strawberry season while it lasts! We are hoping to get a few more days of picking in, so be sure to stop by and grab some while you can!

Hello all! The time has come for farmer Bert's Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Corn Maze. The festivities start this weekend and run through the end of October on Saturday and Sunday. Go to the post below for more details!

Did you know our corn maze includes a fun trivia game and scavenger hunt with a winner selected every weekend? Each winner receives a $100 visa gift card!

All kids get a treat for participating in the scavenger hunt as they exit the maze and turn in their game sheet.

Did you know that Brooklyn Park was once a large farming community known for its fields of potatoes?🥔 Years ago, when irrigation wasn't readily available, the sandy soil was perfect for growing spuds, but not much else! So much so that the town festival is called "Tater Daze". We are lucky to have irrigation, fertilizers, and knowledge of how to not only get crops to grow in the sandy soil, but to get them to THRIVE. 🌱 We grow WAY more than just potatoes these days. 😁 This dirt is actually the perfect ground for growing produce, as long as we give it lots of water and plenty of nutrients. Our family is proud to be the last resident farmers in Brooklyn Park which believe it or not, was once a vibrant area of agriculture in the NW suburbs. We farm some of the last tillable acreage in the city of Brooklyn Park and are amongst a handful of farmers who both live and farm in Hennepin County. Thank you for supporting your local farm. The USDA considers "locally grown" to be less than 400 miles of where the product was grown, or within the same state. All of our stands and grocery stores we supply fit into that definition, so THANK YOU for your continued support! 💚

Surprise!!!😲We experienced some cross pollination from a neighboring field, so you *may* see some yellow kernels mixed in with those luscious pearly white kernels today. It's still the same white sweet corn variety you've come to know and love (it's the only sweet corn we plant) but it's a bit more colorful today and for the next few days. We also have a few muskmelon today. We open at 10:00 see you soon!

What a day! We are sold out, but we'll be back at 10:00 tomorrow. Our Big Lake location still has corn and melons. They are across the HWY from McDonald's and Lake Cafe. Look for the little red barn.
