Volunteer opportunities are available at our premier horse boarding stable in Monticello, MN, offering a unique hands-on experience for those passionate about equine care. This rewarding experience provides an opportunity to work closely with horses and contribute to their well-being. We are seeking reliable and dedicated individuals to assist with various tasks essential to the daily operations of the stable.

Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers play a vital role in maintaining the health and safety of our horses by assisting with the following daily tasks:
Cleaning Stalls and Barn: Ensuring a clean and safe environment for the horses.
Bringing Horses In: Assisting with the evening transfer of horses from pastures to the barn.
Feeding: Preparing and distributing meals for the horses.
Exercising: Opportunities to assist with exercising horses, depending on experience and stable needs.
Ideal Candidates
We welcome individuals who share our passion for horses and are committed to providing exceptional care. Prior experience working with horses is advantageous, but we are willing to provide training to enthusiastic and dedicated individuals. Reliability, a positive attitude, and a commitment to consistent care are essential, as the horses depend on our team for their well-being.

We are so excited to welcome Gina Fiorentino to the Swan River Stables teaching team! Gina brings decades of experience in dressage, jumping, hunters, and equitation, along with a passion for helping riders build confidence and grow in their horsemanship.

Gina currently has limited lesson openings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and they’re already filling quickly! 🐴💨

🌬️❄️ Winter Riding Reminder! ❄️🌬️

Even though our barn is insulated and the indoor arena stays above freezing, winter weather still sneaks up on us! Riders will need to walk outside to catch their horses, and our barn doors are often open while horses come in and out—so please dress for the temps! 🧤🧣🧦

Warm layers we recommend:
• Gloves you can ride in
• Warm socks & waterproof boots
• A cozy hat or ear warmer
• A jacket or vest you can comfortably move in
• Hand warmers for extra comfort

Staying warm = staying safe and having more fun in your lesson.
We appreciate you helping us keep everyone comfortable this winter at Swan River! 🤍🐴
