A little insight on how I get horses as safe as possible for their future riders. I'm not just jumping off the horse for fun, but preparing her for if her rider happens to fall off while riding, she stops instead of running off or kicking the rider. She's obviously learning but she's getting very smart about it. And watch till the end to see something funny, or at least my siblings found it hilarious 😂

Fame, my 2 1/2 year old BLM mustang practicing his smile for the camera😁😁. The weather has been so nice lately and training has been going well for all of the horses here at GOP.
New guy in for training. Meet Sèamus pronounced as Shaymus. He is here for a little bit of a restart on groundwork and undersaddle. He is a half percheron/half thoroughbred cross and seems very smart and curious from what I can tell. Excited to see how he progresses in training!

Tennessee is progressing well in training. His 30 day refresher is almost up and he will go to working cows sometime this fall. Yesterday we played around with some bridge work and confidence over obstacles. Hes coming along great!

"Princess" had a nice session this afternoon which consisted of learning how to halter and her first leading session which was very fun as you can tell. But she soon found out I'm a little stronger than I look and I'm not letting go no matter how much you twist and turn🤣. Maybe she will turn into her name lol, but shes not acting super princess like right now.
Kawai and I practiced some jumping today! This is a big deal for her because shes not an amazing jumper yet but she tries! Her biggest thing is consistency and jumping more than one jump in a row. She was a little nervous at first but by the last jump, she was like let's do this!
New horse in for training! She is a 3yo blue roan QH that belongs to a local cattle rancher and is here to be started undersaddle.
* When you really dont expect your horse to jump, but he does and your position doesn't look great, but my horse does 💪😍. Decided to test our limits a little today and this was around 2ft 6inch or so. Apache is very brave, I dont jump him much, but when I do hes the best guy!
Excited to share that kitkat's leg wound has finally almost healed up, so we have been continuing our training! She has now started her undersaddle journey and has had around 4 rides so far! Shes doing so great and is exceeding my expectations of her! Thanks to my sister for volunteering to ride her!

You guys...I finally did it!!! I sat on chief for the first time! I'm so proud and excited, its just so amazing! This was his 5th time with a saddle on and he did so amazing, looked for me for guidance in everything with not even offering any freak out or stressed out moments! You can see at the end he put his head down and relaxed and I got off to release that pressure and let him have a positive experience with it. I practiced getting on him multiple times today and he did great. This guy has been SOO challenging for me and those first couple months I really doubted if he would ever be rideable(he just made me work for his trust and didnt seem to like me😅) . As you can see he definitely has a promising future! Crazy how these older mustangs can come around to trust a human so much after being wild so long💙💙
Taught my client horse Roscoe a little something to make mounting easier for his rider🤩. I like to teach all of my horses this, so that it eliminates the frustration of trying to line your horse up to a mounting block to get on and ride. I used the rope to give a bigger signal to him because he was distracted, but he listened very well!!💙
