I cut these last Tuesday before we left on vacation and forgot them on the counter while we were gone. No air conditioning, no water changes! I can’t believe how good they still look! We should have some bouquets ready for sale later this week. I can’t wait for your kitchen table to share some of the beauty too!

I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day yesterday. We enjoyed the beautiful weather early in the day, and watched the thunderstorm and rainbow out the window. What a beautiful day! Next year hopefully we’ll have flowers to add to the beauty.

The mini tunnel came down yesterday, I planted gladiolus, stock plugs and yarrow, and the kids helped me clean out the drain ditch so that the basement won’t flood when we water the pasture.

Had a moment of sheer panic when I got home from choir practice last night and realized the cows had knocked over the garden fence. Miraculously even though the weeds were chomped to the ground, they did not eat or stomp on the snap dragons I had planted out, nor did they damage any of the plants in the tunnel. Whew! That was a close one!

I put together the irrigation system for all the garden areas that the flood irrigation won’t reach. I diagrammed my plan so I would get it all straight. By no means great art, but at least now I’m sure everything will actually get watered.☺️

The peonies are sending up buds. I’m hoping I’ll have some other things blooming so we can open the stand for Mother’s Day, but we’ll see what happens.

I was practicing my bouquet making skills, so I’m ready when it’s time to make some for you all. Lilac, apple, forsythia, and some aspen leaves for greenery. What do you all think?

This is another neat tomato. It’s such an interesting shape! I rescued this one last fall and grew a cutting on the window sill. This is another one we’ll have in the farm stand if anyone wants to try it.

It’s just about time to take down the mini high tunnel and plant some sunflowers and zinnias. I’m so excited!

Basil is another thing I’m slightly obsessed with. I’m growing 7 varieties this year. They even do double duty. They are delicious in cooking, and they add lovely greenery and smell to bouquets.

This little cutie is only 7 inches tall and is called“Orange Hat.” He’s hanging out by a south facing window and has been giving me a tomato or two a day for the past couple of weeks. These are definitely fast on the way to the top of my favorite tomatoes list. We’ll definitely have some of these in the farm stand in late spring early summer. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

The first round of snapdragons is in the ground. I planted them yesterday, and they still look happy this morning. Yay!

Snapdragons are one of my favorite flowers. My mom always had them growing outside our front door. I can’t wait till these turn into these so you guys can enjoy them too?

Here’s where the farm stand will go. For right now we’re just going to use a tent and a table, but eventually we’ll put up a more permanent structure.

The snapdragons and sunflowers survived their first night in our mini high tunnel. Hurray! I was pretty confident the snaps would be fine. I wasn’t sure how the sunflowers would do, but they look green and happy. Hopefully soon they will be in a bouquet on your table looking like this.

We finished putting up our mini high tunnel today and moved some of the seedlings out there. Can’t wait till they turn into beautiful flowers we can share with you all!
