My main girl Tali got adjusted a couple of days ago. Seems the saddle I have been using is bothering her a bit so I tried an English saddle in her and had the kids try it out too!

She moved out so beautifully and really enjoyed the lighter tack!

And my vista kids got a lesson in balance and trust.

Day 1 in the books!

Each student with care for 2-4 kids. They will have record books and be required to record weekly weight, daily feedings and progress. I am super excited to watch all these kids grow!! 🐑

Yesterday, some of my vet tech and drugs and dreams students got to go to PD and tour! They got to see the forensics lab and also got to watch a drug dog demo. Thank you Montrose PD!!

Last week we had an exciting session with the vet tech kids at Vista, focusing on essential skills in veterinary preparation, safe handling, and deworming techniques using applesauce with our horses. This innovative approach not only fosters a positive experience for the horses but also helps them become more accustomed to receiving medication if/when needed.

By incorporating applesauce, we found that most horses reacted positively to the scary plastic syringe, creating a relaxed atmosphere for both the animals and the students. This method not only makes the process of administering medication less stressful but also emphasizes the importance of gentle handling and building trust with our equine friends.

The kids engaged actively, learning how to safely approach and handle the horses while understanding the significance of proper deworming practices. By the end of class, they not only gained invaluable hands-on experience but also witnessed firsthand how a little creativity can transform routine veterinary tasks into enjoyable interactions. It’s moments like these that inspire students and promote compassionate care for our animals!

Hey friends! 🐴✨ Today, I want to share something close to my heart. As an always evolving mustang lover, I’ve learned that the journey with our horses—and ourselves—isn’t about being perfect; it’s more about connection, growth, and kindness.

Just like our equine friends, we all have our quirks and imperfections. It’s easy to feel like we’re constantly falling short or missing the mark, especially when we compare ourselves to others or chase after an ideal that feels just out of reach. But trust me when I say: it’s okay to be a work in progress!

💖Here’s what I’ve discovered:

1. Embrace Your Humanity: Mistakes are part of the ride! Each misstep is a lesson that helps us grow stronger and wiser.

2. Redefine Success: Success isn’t just about accolades; it’s about the joy we find in our journey and the connections we make along the way.

3. Release People-Pleasing: You are enough just as you are. Set boundaries and honor your own needs. Authentic relationships come from being true to yourself.

4. Cultivate Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with the same kindness you show your horses. You deserve love and respect, flaws and all.

5. Focus on Contribution: Instead of comparing, think about what you can give. Your unique gifts are what make the world a better place!

6. Embrace the Journey: Life is a beautiful, messy journey. Let’s celebrate every step we take together, learning and growing along the way.

Remember, true strength lies in being authentic and compassionate—both to ourselves and to others. We can ride this journey together, embracing our imperfections and becoming the powerful, selfless beings we were meant to be. 🌈💪🐎
